I think someone mistook cost for value.

I would gladly pay for a nice panel...just not in an archer, cherokee, or almost any other piper. A cub yes, Seneca sure, Mirage/M600 definitely. But I am not a fan of those old 1960s, 70s, 80s pipers. A 206, 210 or 182 with a $100k plus spent on the panel sounds great though.

    Why fly?

Agreed. Flying for any reason at all is great. But when you can do a few acrobatics along the way it is even better. You are very blessed!

    Why fly?

Buy a gmc diesel pickup, and a boat. That makes flying seem pretty cheap. Make sure that you get a marina slip to leave the boat at, so you can just ride back and forth on your motorcycle, because the gmc will spend most of its life in the shop, and rarely be available to tow the boat!

    More Yoke Time

I'm not a tesla fan boy, but if you are craving more yoke time, i would say try buying a new tesla.

    Plane down in Western Washington

Sure customs talked to me, as did the people in the 7 meetings I went to. I meant nobody said a negative thing to me, or how dare you come here. I have a trip planned to the USA or mexico for the next 7 months in a row. Blowing it out of proportion is silliness. I'm serious grg, come visit, put...

    Talk Me Out of Buying

Correct. Took a P210 completely off my airplane shopping list. If I get a 210 at all, it would be a 1980 to 1986 without all the gear doors that eventually fail causing problems. Have to say while a totally different animal than a 210, the Mako intrigues me. Or do i resign myself to going slower...

Whatever Happened Too Harbour Air Electric Plane

And the pilot would have to not only be 100% power off, but so high and fast, he needed extra drag. I generally don't come in stupid high and fast on final, and if i did it would be 15 seconds of actual charging. I plane my approaches to be stabilized, not 500 feet to high, and 15 knots too...

Whatever Happened Too Harbour Air Electric Plane

Pilots won't learn how to take care of an engine, check oil, gas up, lean the mixture or anything else. And so now you have a license and no clue how to operate a plane with a gas engine or engines, and that is the plane they will have a 99.99% they are flying after flight school. So why teach...

Yes. Sorry but it ruffles my feathers when someone who doesn't live here is spreading false rumors.

    Plane down in Western Washington

I have hired a lady for the first time ever to help find me good employees. Never had to do so before May 2020, again this week she is working on finding me people. Currently running short handed by about 15 staff, and this is my slow season, come summer time I will need 40. Don't paint the...

    Plane down in Western Washington

In the past 12 months I have left BC 18 times, 10 of those were out of the country, the other 8 were to another province or territory. Nobody has said a thing to me. Went last month to Idaho, no biggie. Unemployment here is around 4.5% and those are mostly people who don't want to work, or such...

    Plane down in Western Washington

BC is a generally friendly place. If a pilot heading south realized their fuel calculations were off, and they need to land for emergency fuel, I'm sure that they are not in a huge pile of trouble. And places that actually have fuel, are open to get fuel at, they are not closed. Nobody is going...

What would you look for in a flight school?

I should have added, instructors available outside of regular hours, for me the 9 to 5 type were useless. I worked full time, often long days, my 3rd instructor, and the 1 I stuck with because she was awesome, not like the first 2 that were crap, she would fly when it fit my schedule, and also...

    Mako

They make me very curious, curious enough that I am going to call them, and maybe make a trip to the factory for a look. Hear so much about the cirrus, this looks nicer, yet cheaper. Wonder how they fly in real life.

    Plane down in Western Washington

Not much in BC Canada seems to be closed, or shut off. Some back east, but our economy is booming, most people are working, and almost everything is open. Lots of places had their busiest year yet in 2020, I'm one of them. Been hiring like crazy the past 8 months to keep up. Very poorly written...

Disastrous First (and Last) Annual - Advice Needed

Too bad it wasn't from this area, very dry climate, lots of sunshine. Those are the primary reasons I moved here. NY and Florida both sound like place anything metal goes to die of salt water corrosion.

Whatever Happened Too Harbour Air Electric Plane

I couldn't think of a worse training plane, than an electric one. Why bother teaching pilots at all, just toss them the keys to the king air 360, and tell them to have a fun time, without a single lesson.

Experienced Pilots: Do you always calculate takeoff distance?

Don't be a moron and crash, and the government will not even come ask to see the piece of paper where you worked out all the calculations.
