Best way to prepare for a flight to a new area.

https://www.aopa.org/Kneeboard/Kneeboard/GeneratePdf?airportId=KTGI These printouts work well on a kneeboard, writing frequencies and TPA/pattern entry plan in each was helpful to me.

    Headset Evaluation

+1 for Lightspeed Sierra Bought a set as a student, zero complaints or problems, XXXL head. Satisfied enough with the first one to get a second set for the plane later. I wear a bucket hat under the headset with the brim folded up at the ears. May have the hat modified with headband notches...

Deltahawk update from S&F looks good!

The future for 'affordable' personal aircraft increasingly looks Experimental. None of those listed seem particularly affordable or suited for the current Rotax offerings. My gut feeling is that the Cirri are partnership/business planes and the Pipers are school planes so they're GA in type...

Why are Rotax engines limited to 150/160hp?

Rotax owns the 160 minus hp market. Why burn the resources to compete with the established dominant players for a slice of their market when Rotax dominates its own segment?

What kept you going through training?

Totally normal. That's what 'chair flying' is for. Add some ground time with your instructor to chair fly through your questions or weak points. Keep your appointments on bad wx days and use the time to chair fly through scenarios. Removing yourself from the task saturation of flight helps...

What kept you going through training?

Flight training sucks, it's not realistic and you're not allowed to fly as you can once you're certificated. Its a grind you have to complete to get out of student-pilot jail. You'll use Foreflight for all of your flight planning and chuck that stupid whizwheel in the trash where it belongs...

Deltahawk update from S&F looks good!

What's the GA volume in the Middle East? Is it a thing or not really?

Deltahawk update from S&F looks good!

I've never been shy to be ignorant but don't the Euro LSA's also fall under lower landing fees, etc? Is LSA is the majority of the GA fleet there? Rotax's 916 has 160hp now, same as early 172's. I went with the 915 in muh Stoldozer™️ because of my expat plans. Turns out it also burns 2-4...

    Rotax/Mogas is the overseas answer.

just back from Sun N Fun

Yeah there's a freq list to follow starting with ATIS then the remote tower at Lake Parker then N Arrivals. And enough Youtube videos to self-educate. Monday arrival was easy, no hold, no wait.

    Took the plunge...bought a Zenith CH801 kit!

I wanted a mogas-friendly engine and during my power-plant search I was taken in by the Viking's cost. At the build center, there was a Viking sitting on the ground for sale, removed from a stol-plane. Unsure of the reason, but was sure I didn't want to be in the same situation, having to swap...

Airplane camping seemed to be way down from last year. Maybe Eclipse/WX/Master's combo.

    Sun n Fun…what’s going on?

This jetlet seems to be the last one getting out. Lakeland tower just cleared arrivals.

The last stragglers are taxiing out now for departure.

    Sun n Fun…what’s going on?

Show runs late due to Amazon and they hold arrivals until departures leave.
