Can engine heater reduce/prevent engine corrosion?

Not me, but the statement the blogger made contradictory to the manufacture of the engine, where the blogger said to leave it plugged in

    Hard Landing???

yard sale When a skier or snowboarder eats it on the slopes and loses all of their gear. If a skier loses his skies, poles, hat, goggles, and anything else, shout "YARD SALE" from the ski lift above him. “the difference between a crash and a hard landing is that planes make it to the gate...

Can engine heater reduce/prevent engine corrosion?

Depends on cold. If it’s engineer guy grabs Patagonia vest cold, probably ok If it’s farmer grabs big carhart and muck boots, preheat time Or just ask the people who invented your engine http://reiffpreheat.com/Continental SIL 03-1 Cold Wx Ops.pdf

Can engine heater reduce/prevent engine corrosion?

Even though the instructions from the manufacturer of the engine say not to? I would follow the people who made the engines advice over some self proclaimed internet expert. Or ask people with revenue generating planes in the area what they do.

Engine running, nose wheel chocked. Guess what happens next

The human with free will grabs the door latch and gets out? If that was the case, PIC should have pulled ICO.

    Opinions on planned avionics upgrades/changes

Will it fly a ILS? The VOR/NDBs all can just be flown with the GPS while monitoring a tuned nav head, but having a autopilot that can’t fly a ILS is a large gap, far more critical than 3D audio

Can engine heater reduce/prevent engine corrosion?

The airplane falling apart from sitting is mostly not true. The old mechanic here got a estate sale Cessna, had been sitting for a looong time in a hangar, he replaced tires and some small bits, flew it for a year and sold it, great plane. Won’t matter if you kill yourself with ulcer over nothing

My past, starting as a student

I’d go PPL, the few SPL I have instructed have opted for the extra time to get some night and instrument training, ends up a wash with just getting a PPL. Only reason for SPL is if medically you can’t do basic/FAA medical and get a PPL. The sport plane I used to instruct in was also more...

Go on Basic Med - what am I missing ?

The only reason I can think one would surrender their pilots cert would be if it was about to be revoked, I would imagine the FAA being the FAA, they would just go scorched earth and revoke everything if you angered them to that point, so you would ether surrender your CFI too or it would be...

If it were me, I’d spend the .5hr talking to a FAA lawyer who knows better than you or I, better nights sleep.

Aside from making sure it works and has a correction card, outside of training, in IFR aircraft how many seconds of attention does a compass get?

Figure out if this is a problem first Ask for all medical records from the shrink as well as doc who recommended the shrink and said you may have XYZ issue How did you pay for the shrink? If it was insurance that might be a issue depending on how it was billed I would also ask for your rap...

Basic Med if you don't have a doctor

look up occupational health doc, the exam itself could really be done by anyone who knows how to print a eye chart, use a blood pressure cuff, and a pen, and following the printed directions, you only paying for their MD signature.

if he got his medical/student pilot certificate 7/2008, that would have been paper §61.19 Duration of pilot and instructor certificates and privileges. Paper student pilot certificate. A student pilot certificate issued under this part prior to April 1, 2016 expires: (1) For student pilots...

My past, starting as a student

You can do this with basic med. Unless you are going international, or flying larger aircraft think turbine sized, basic is the same as 3rd class, but without 90% of FAA nonsense. Try to run your name here, probably will show your old medical https://amsrvs.registry.faa.gov/airmeninquiry/

Go on Basic Med - what am I missing ?

Best argument, why do you need a CPL to get a CFI, if you only need to act as PIC a PPL can do that just as well as CPL, evidenced by CFIs not needing to exercise CPL privileges
