    Boeing’s many problems

Wasn't the MCAS back in like 2018, and they were charged in 2021?

Small plane lands on Long Island’s Southern State Parkway

I suspect a transponder / ADS-B out issue. If you look at the track logs there is missing data in a lot of entries, also momentary spikes in speed that are not really possible.

    Missing US Marine Helicopter

My SIL lives in Pine Valley. They heard it flying overhead "very low" according to them early Wednesday AM. There was wind and heavy snow at the time, even though the actual forecast said nothing about snow - just rain.

Is Dan Gryder the biggest asset to aviation on youtube?

He had a video (can't remember if it was early 2023 or late 2022) but he interviewed a doctor and talked about this supposed issue with vaccinated pilots and heart attacks at high altitude. The way they were talking they kept hinting at some impeding doom where vaccinated pilots were gonna start...

That's right, I was getting my light sport and ultra light confused. Woops :)

    Trevor Jacob Crash and Burn

Is a Rans S-21 technically a light sport - hence no pilot license needed? I didn't watch his video, just know he owns N63BG and assume that's the airplane.

Vans Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Usually found via x-ray, dye penetrate or eddy current. Also when approving a new supplier or a supplier process change you generally want to perform more rigorous destructive testing (aka "qual" testing), which could have been another gap here. For my suppliers we flow down that they cannot...

Vans Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

That's what I am used to in contracts as well (work in aerospace manufacturing), however many companies still have contract language which gives them a way to recoup costs from the contractor through a process called assertion.

Is Dan Gryder the biggest asset to aviation on youtube?

I knew Youtube would place ads no matter what, but a youtuber told me that YT will not do in-stream ads... only beginning and end. I don't know if that's a fact though.

Is Dan Gryder the biggest asset to aviation on youtube?

I've pointed out before that he monetizes and my comments all got deleted (on his videos). There are a couple different ways to tell. 1 is, as far as I'm aware, if you get in-stream ads that means it's almost certainly monetized. The other way you can tell is if you see an ad at the top of the...

That was extremely depressing and frustrating to read.

    PA-28 down, Florida Treasure Coast

It was at a flight school, so 600 factored service hours per year would be totally possible. Honestly if it was flying daily I would expect more than that. If it flew 1000 hours per year (20 hrs/week), and had 10 100-hr inspections that year it would equate to 1000 factored service hours. I'm...

    PA-28 down, Florida Treasure Coast

My understanding is once you hit 5,000 factored service hours and perform the inspection your clock resets. If you reach 5,000 again you would have to perform the inspection again. But I will re-read the AD because maybe I am thinking of the SB.

    PA-28 down, Florida Treasure Coast

It's saying that since the AD was complied with in 2021, the aircraft had accumulated 1,199 FSH at the time of the 100-hour in June 2023. The AD inspection is required to be performed every 5000 FSH.

    PA-28 down, Florida Treasure Coast

Prelim: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-repgen/api/Aviation/ReportMain/GenerateNewestReport/192890/pdf Some were suspecting they were performing commercial maneuvers, and seems like they were doing that (and then some). The explanation given by the pilot doesn't sound overly stressful on the...

    Broward County Police Copter Down

My thought as well. In the first 4 or 5 seconds of the video it could have been descending, instead of flying (what appears to be) straight and level. It's easy to arm chair quarterback though. They may not have known how bad the problem was.
