As a physician, I can see a legitimate use for the test in the OP's case. If it is going to be useful in making decisions about future risk factor reduction, then it could be worth it. For example, if the result of the test would change whether or not you start statin therapy for risk reduction...

The fact that this "stik" doesn't even list the proper amount of usable fuel is telling.

There are no commercially available sticks. If you join the Cessna 150 club (best money a 150 owner can spend), they have an old newsletter with instructions on how to make an accurate one from a paint stick. It is based on usable fuel.

If it's that painful, you're doing it right. Try to make some peace with the stupid HSI questions - eventually you get the pattern of what they are trying to ask. You'll get there, but it's a horrible grind.

Some of these old radios can be really difficult to pull out.... If you can push from the back it is much easier. Otherwise, I have had to remove adjacent avionics just to get them out

Just my anecdotal observation, but it feels like the market has cooled down a bit. The crazy high prices are staying on the market, and more reasonable deals seem to pop up. Personal pet peeve with listings: "I have $xx invested into this airplane."

The 701 kit is very much less advanced, as you might expect. So there aren't many matched holes - it's a lot of measuring and lining pieces up together. You might ask yourself - are you really attracted to the 701 kit or just the price? There are those that love the 701 because it is somewhere...

This happened to my 150 at last annual. The only cost effective solution is replacing the elevator. To fix the attach bracket that the bushing wore through, the skin has to be removed, making a repair not cost effective. I managed to pick up a scrap yard elevator for about $300, plus another...

This is basically what I end up doing, but the only reason is because of time on the oil. I don't fly much, so I try to get fresh oil in the engine every 3-4 months. I'm not going to change the filter every 20-25 hours.
