Flying the Gulf Coast - 12nm limits and coastal T-storms

Hello all, Later this week I'm hoping to fly eastbound along the Gulf Coast, from TX to central FL. A couple of questions for folks: - it looks like there will be a fair bit of convective activity, but the forecast makes it look like it mostly ends at the coast. Is this typical, that the...

Archer II vs. Archer III fuel burn rates - why different?

Well, I guess the way to go is to use my FS-450 fuel flow, adjust the K-factor after I have enough data, and go by that plus operating experience and a little cushion.

Archer II vs. Archer III fuel burn rates - why different?

Ocassionally G5 HSI does not power up

I've had a thing where recently the G5 HSI doesn't automatically power down all the way. It's on the avionics master bus, but the AI is on the master bus. When I turn off avionics power, the HSI starts counting down to an automatic shut down. But then, sometime around when I turn the master off...

Keep oil warmer during winter flight

I'm a new 1980 Archer II owner and was wondering if anyone can tell me where the winterization plate should be stored on the airplane. I haven't found it yet and the previous owner (who lives in Kansas!) has no idea what I'm talking about. Thanks! Tom
