Need recommendation for good GA airport near Greensboro NC

I accepted a temporary (2 to 3 years) assigment near Greensboro. It's a 7.5 hour drive from my home, but a little over 2 hour flight. I need a good GA airport hopefully with a good flying community/EAA chapter. Anybody live/familiar with that area?

Catching a ride in San Diego

I know it's late notice, but I'm in San Diego for work and just got the day off tomorrow. Thought about renting but not sure I want to deal with this complicated air space in a plane I'm not familiar with. Anybody interested in splitting the costs on a sight seeing flight around the area?

Need a recommendation for a Florida airport

Wanting to fly to Jacksonville, Florida this year and looking for a place to land and park the plane. Obviously not going to take my straight tail to KJAX, so which is the best GA airport around there to land and leave my plane for a few days?

Any chance anyone has a drawing or cad file for

the instrument panel on a 1956 172? The part # is 0513004-11. We're going to install a 430 and figure this is a good time to sort out that old shotgun panel. I'd like to get the dimensions on that panel so i can start trying to lay out a new one in cad. Thanks in advance if anyone does.

V tail crash yesterday (Dec 10th)

This one hits a little too close to home. I knew this guy, not well, but his son and my youngest were friends in school Met him a few times picking up kids or dropping them off. I remember when he started taking pilots lessons about 12 years ago or so. Not going to speculate on what...

Odd decision leads to plane crash in Texas

Not sure why you bring your plane to town to take off on the street, towards the intersection with streetlights and signal lights. https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/plane-crash-along-highway-in-winnie/502-826d2150-7b15-4fae-ba78-337a55bee9b3...

Not 4 crashes in 8 days, it was 7 crashes in 7 days.

That was the preliminary reports we had before. This is from the Traverse City Michigan newspaper and they interviewed the pilot himself. Spoiler alert...... He says he's done flying...

See through carburetor and high speed camera

Found this today, thought it was really interesting. It's one thing to know how carburetors work, it's another thing entirely to see one work and watch the interaction of fuel and air.

For Sale 2 TKM MX-300 navcomms

I got two MX-300's when a friend did an avionics upgrade. They were both working fine when removed. They come with trays and the back connectors. One is missing a knob. I'll sell outright if somebody makes a good offer, but what I'd really like to do is trade these two radios for one TKM...
