    Vaccine passports & medical certificate

Scary. I guess I need to save my pennies and buy a plane.

    Vaccine passports & medical certificate

You probably need to look at what Cuomo's up to. Yes, it's a definite concern.

    Vaccine passports & medical certificate

Don't you think popping into Walgreens for some allergy medicine is different than visiting sub-Saharan Africa?

To be fair, covid changed everything.

    Vaccine passports & medical certificate

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/17/technology/walmart-vaccine-verification-app.html Just curious when/how the FAA will require it. A vaccine passport to board a commercial aircraft will push many pilots/passengers toward private ones, and that can't be allowed.

    Vaccine passports & medical certificate

To persuade vaccine-hesitant people to get it. Businesses are already on board. Your flight students? How do you teach someone to fly remotely? I guess you didn't hear Biden's last decision.

    Vaccine passports & medical certificate

Yes, of course it will be separate. But when will it become required by the FAA? Immediately, or at next application? More curious than anything else.

    Vaccine passports & medical certificate

With vaccine passports quickly approaching in the US, should we assume that we'll need to have one in order to hold a medical certificate? Or even a pilot certificate? Curious how this will work - will we just show the AME/enter in MedXpress at our next exam? Or will the FAA crosscheck databases...

Overweight - Should I even waste my time?

Ridiculous. When I was first flying, I knew a DPE who pushing 350, if not more. He couldn't fly in a 152, but he welcome in anything else.

How critical is learning glass (and any tips?)

I did the train the way I intended to fly. Had no idea that NDB's would be decommissioned, that GPS would take over, and that glass would replace a six-pack in 15 short years.

How critical is learning glass (and any tips?)

IFR, mostly. Though I'm not great with it for VFR either - I compensate with decent stick & rudder skills.

How critical is learning glass (and any tips?)

No. CFI said he's never had anyone require one.

How critical is learning glass (and any tips?)

Hasn't happened yet. Is there an online course or something I can take? I feel like it (plus ForeFlight) are a lot of extra information that I have a hard time keeping in my scan - and that's when I can figure out what the display's telling me in the first place. Outside of instructing, I'm...

How critical is learning glass (and any tips?)

My first lesson was in 1998 in a 152 with one nav radio, and I stopped flying not too long after, around 2003. Tried to get back into a few times, but between money and babies and a medical issue, it never happened. I'm finally giving it one last shot, but things may have changed too much. The...

    Zero confidence - help!

Funny thing is, I didn't have any issues flying on my BFR & IPC flights. It all came right back. I'd have signed myself off, so maybe that's the answer. "It's just an airplane." I love this. I think at its core, this is me realizing just how much I've forgotten over the years and knowing that...

    Zero confidence - help!

Those were probably two separate thoughts. I can count on one hand the number of uncontrolled fields I've flown out of, and I find them all very uncomfortable. As for landings, not sure. Maybe it's a proficiency thing.

This was actually my gut feeling, but wasn't sure if it was way off base.

    Zero confidence - help!

Landings. My current uncontrolled airport vs. the C and D I flew out of before. Maybe I don't trust other pilots? Funny thing, I was literally just sitting here worried I won't be able to land once I get up there. What even. Kind of what I figured, but the CFI said he thought I...
