Light Sport IFR in VFR conditions- is it legal

Hello all! Hopeful 2021 will be Ask your local FSDO. Looking at everything above I'd guess it is not legal. Also, keep in mind the FAR's apply throughout the US. Here in CO most MEAS are above 2,000 AGL. Even back east van you imagine being cleared to say 3,000 feet and having to tell the...

    Cleared the phone voicemail today

Answering the calls can be fun! Take up as much of their time as you can...pretend you are having trouble understanding them, make them repeat pitch several times, ask a bunch of questions, tell them you want what they are selling, then ask to put phone down to go get your credit card...but...

So how do you handle a situation like this?

Midlifeflyer-you are right they can only make you present it. Haven't even thought about this for years and finding it took a while. Hope everyone is well and enjoying life's blessings. Please be sure to register and vote! Remember and honor those who sacrificed to bring us this right. Jon

The funny stuff us A&Ps find

Flying magazine published an article about a B-757 purchased by NASA to be used as an airborne test bed. At some point a space was opened and several pounds of cocaine was found. Author claimed the street value of the was enough to pay for the airplane and most of the modifications.

So how do you handle a situation like this?

If Bubba wants to push it he (or she) can demand you produce your pilot certificate then keep it. I'll have to find my FARs because one of them says we must present our certificate upon request by a LEO. Too tired to find it tonight so will do so tomorrow.

    Self Serve Fuel Manners RANT

luvflyin-great post! The line crew at one of the airports back home had two interesting ways of modifying pilot behavior. Pilots who left their plane blocking the fuel pumps or taxiways frequently returned to find their airplane had been moved into the deepest mud puddle. Another technique...

Hot day, max load, should I use flaps on takeoff

Using flaps for take-off will shorten ground roll. Unfortunately, it will typically cut rate and angle of climb. Most piston GA aircraft do not have sufficient performance prediction information (nor do we as pilots have access to obstacle data) to estimate performance for a given set of...

Does ATC care how you enter a hold?

The parallel entry seems superfluous. Direct or teardrop make more sense and keep you on the side with more protected airspace. Just a thought.

    Resigning from the HIMS Program

Brad Z-you are probably correct, but I'd like to hear Bruce's answer. He has more experience and knowledge in this area than do you or I. Hope you and yours are still smiling! Is your backseater your son?

    Resigning from the HIMS Program

In using the description AME I was referring to Dr. Chein (SP?) or other higher qualified doctors who are members. Dr. C has been very helpful to several friends and me by explaining how to avoid problems with OK City.

    Resigning from the HIMS Program

Hopefully one of our resident AME's can give us a factual answer. I would guess that anyone who needs a SODA or SI would not be eligible for Basic Med.

    Resigning from the HIMS Program

I'm having problems understanding why OP cares what the FAA might do in the future if he has truly given up on flying. Also curious about why his AME told him to send his medical back.

    Blue Angels and ADSB

The military is exempt from many FARs. As an example there are low level training routes well below 10,000 ft that are flown at speeds up to 500K. Lots of fun and excitement!
