    Best Aviation museum

If you want to step back in time, Moton Field in Tuskegee Alabama. The place has been "renovated" to look like the 40's, all the way down to the desks, telephones and desktop fans.

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

As I mentioned before, I never flew the plane again, avoided the owner that kept calling me to fly it again, I assisted with the investigation, was cleared 100% since even the FAA didn't know what the answer was, I really don't know nor do I care what the mechanic did or what the corrective...

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

Ohhhh so YOU understand what the issue is? I see....so YOU are an ancient FAA investigator or work for the NTSB or something right? Because even the FAA had no clue what the issue was....but YOU do. Of course you do. Why don't you Oh Great One share with us minions exactly what...

PU-Lease don't tell me that one!! LOL So far I have nothing but pleasure and amazing flights from my lil D model :) I flew 0.7 the other day and burned 3.7 gallons and the oil was exactly the same so I am very happy with this lil thing :)

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

They were aux tanks if I rem correctly yes. The tips make "an extension " to the entire wing system and this aircraft did not have that

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

I could not have switched tanks sine the outboard were the ones causing problems and I ran out on the mains. And yes a mystery indeed. My reason for posting this IS the mystery. I had no confirmation from the FAA, from the owner or from other sites I posted on. As a matter of fact, a couple...

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

Ok see, this whole time WE ALL thought the entire system was venting fuel....you are saying it was just the AUX and I still had fuel and was flying off my mains! Got it and thank you for that. I will share that point with other folks that would be interested in knowing that around here.

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

I wasn't wearing a scarf with my hands on hips and chest into the wind that day :) For a few minutes I thought it was over...if you look at the chart I posted from the flight my airspeed went from 240 to 96 and everywhere in between during the ordeal. I had my hands full and ATC wanted to put...

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

It wasn't my plane, it was a lease by my organization and I don't rem it having one. I only flew this plane 3 times and this was the last time.

Piper Comanche's can vent fuel and then ya lose both engines

I was at 7000 ft going to Augusta, tanks were topped, more than enough for a 2 hr flight. Took off on the mains then went to switch to the outside tanks and the engine sputtered, so I put it back on main and figured still more than enough for my 2 hr flight. Well that was the beginning of my...

With all my surfing I found this avionics outlet

From what I have seen from these guys price wise they are anywhere between 50%-75% off other prices I found online. Maybe you guys already know about this place but I just found it and figured I'd share. I think it's a salvage place and if you send them a request for the monthly email you will...

UPDATE: Forums ... Pilot Training I’m starting my flight training but I’m scared of dying.

teaching foreign students that grew up riding donkeys then placing them under NVG's in a turbine powered aircraft at tree top level...lot's of interesting stuff happens. But it's our job to make sure they still get to ride a donkey again somewhere down the road LOL

UPDATE: Forums ... Pilot Training I’m starting my flight training but I’m scared of dying.

Your instructor won't let that happen, besides it's your job to make mistakes with him so you don't when you're alone. He is prepared for all kinds of crazy stuff and will bring you home safely. Now get out there, prepare well, study hard and get ready for an amazing life!

How can I work on radio communications at home?

A standard used by the Military when talking to ATC is by using the Pilot/Controller glossary. Besides learning what to say there are tons of juicy tid-bits in there you will learn. Ppl seem to think just talking to ATC is fine and it is BUT speaking their language over yours is preferred and...

    DC One-X vs A20

I understand that on long trips, makes complete sense. And the age thing is creeping up on me also :)

    DC One-X vs A20

I can definitely see your point, I guess I am assuming most folks just putt around their own "patch" like you say...I know that's all I plan on doing except for a few 2.5 hr trips every month or so

    DC One-X vs A20
