Damn I was hoping we were rural enough to not have to worry about that.

    Thinking about a Bus/RV

Ugh. My kids do that. I'm about ready to turn off the internet.

    Thinking about a Bus/RV

This blows my mind. Can you see how many people are just letting the whole thing play? This has to be a small cross section of people who spent years sleeping in the back of greyhound busses or team driving a semi.

Airventure. They do NOT like bicycles inside the fence, even before the show starts. Actually I think that's the only time I've ever been escorted out of a place. I'm not sure Charlotte is better than a bar in SD. Especially if there's a VIP TFR...

Thick black sticky residue under my wing.

This might be my favorite thing on poa ever :rofl::rofl:

Thick black sticky residue under my wing.

It kind of looks like the corrosion x that bleeds out of my plane, but I don't really get sticky globs of it like that. Of course, I also don't dump gallons of avgas through my wings, either

Midwest POA Janebruary Lunch February 3, 2024 1200 EST Rick's Boatyard KEYE

It came apart as I was loading up Sunday morning. I duck taped it to keep it from coming apart more in flight, and pushed on the inside of the door to make sure it was secure. My mechanic said it'd be a couple weeks before he could get to it, but he'd walk me through it if I wanted to work on...

[NA] Is AI going to end actual musicians?

My 15yo asked my opinion on ai just last night. I told her I'm still unsure, not only about its role, but even if it exists at all. Everything Ive seen is 100% derivative. Sampling text, sound, or images and mashing them together to "create" the output. It's only as capable as the database it's...

Oops I forgot I haven't posted about that yet. Yeah... Door skin (that hinge attaches to) delaminated from the frame. So now I have a little fiberglass project (under a&p supervision, of course).

    One cylinder coming in low...

This is 100% what I would do in your situation. I would also borescope the cylinder (well, all of them, but especially #1) to make sure the valves and seats are okay. I know he said it was going through the rings...trust but verify. The solvent flush is even something you could do on your own...

    Why haven't you been to a POA fly-in ?

I had just landed in the same wind, and I definitely needed a beer, so I assumed @kaiser would too. You gotta look out for your fellow pilots.

    Why haven't you been to a POA fly-in ?

We'd love to see you at Gaston's. That's a LITTLE closer. Might be an option to hitch a ride in something faster, say a Comanche for example...

    Monday only - worth it?

Yes, everything is up & running Monday morning. It all gets set up over the weekend (and preceding week & month). Monday is also nice because no one is tired & cranky yet, and everything is in stock.

    Site very slow

I think they slow it down intentionally once in a while, just to remind us how good we have it. Like getting back in a skyhawk every now & again.

    Rough River '24! (2I3, 4/26/24 - 4/28/24

We missed you. Teresa said "Where's Andy? I think this is the first fly-in I've been to that he hasn't."

    The comments are amazing.
