    3rd Class and Basic Med is the same thing except blood pressure. Basic Med doesn't even ask and the ticket is good gor 4 years and the doctor doesn't even have to sign it if he/she doesn't want to.

    I think that's what these dumb dumbs are saying. In the old days before the regs got real serious, an A&E ( before A&P) could use balance scales and calibrate to say "its close enough" those days are over for quite some time.

    Are they staying wide open or just partially closing? With airspeed, sometimes the linkage binds, but on the ground everything works fine providing all switches are functional. Common cowel flap problem on aircraft as well. No margin for kinking linkage.
