I dont know anything about the electronic version, but my wheel one has a good amount of formulas on it that can help you out on the written.

Maybe not, but if they truly desire to make a run at the majors, isnt a degree a requirement? Is 0 to CFI in 6 months common? I dont know for sure, but I would think there are many CFI's with some college.

IMO, to get good, career CFI's to stick around, the pay structure has to be close to the median wage for the area the CFI wants to live and teach or they are just there to do their time and move on. School Teacher's in my area start around $40-$42K, have summers, weekends and holidays off...

That is what I am doing. Make sure you keep track of things that you dont quite get and your CFI will cover those in greater detail with some hands on training.

Yeah, mine has sectional chart on one side and terminal area chart with the two scales, SM & NM, on each side. You would think it would not make a difference because scaled distance is set, but I learned the first few times I did get better accuracy using the right scale, lol
