What is the best way to study for the Instrument Written Test?

I took my instrument knowledge test a few weeks ago and got a 90. I studied Sporty's test bank and would do a rapid 60 question test, then study the areas that I got wrong 1-2x / day. I did that over a couple of weeks and I was consistently in the 95% on the test. The exam itself was quite...

So if you are unable to climb at 390 ft / nm at that density altitude, then you must accept the higher minimums.

Procedure NA for arrivals at .......

Off topic, but I cannot help to ask given the Eureka RNAV approach plate. What is the difference between MDA and MDA*? The only asterisk on the plate is the comment in the summary about missed approach climb rates, but that cannot apply here.

Plane Ideas for Recurring X-Country Mission

It's complicated is the answer on the official policy. As I am related to investments and there is employment policy and then investment fund policies which aren't always identical. But ... I don't care as much as technically, since I am calling the Portland area my "home" and Bay Area "work"...

Plane Ideas for Recurring X-Country Mission

Well, this is getting fun now. Lots of questions and guidance is quite appreciated. I haven't gotten far enough along in my analysis to determine if I will put it into an LLC, depreciate it, etc. The liability protection certainly seems advantageous, but haven't yet figured out if there are...

Plane Ideas for Recurring X-Country Mission

Thanks for all of the inputs. Given that there are a few different choices to work through, I'll start a spreadsheet and share with the group once there is some meaningful comparisons to show. My initial thinking was a non-turbo SR22, but some of the others suggested are worth taking a look at...

Plane Ideas for Recurring X-Country Mission

You are right - there are some nice Mooney Ovations out there for a pretty reasonable price with G1000 and dual WAAS GPS. https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/28974707/2005-mooney-m20r-ovation2

Plane Ideas for Recurring X-Country Mission

Yes, correct. I am not entirely ready yet for twins. It wasn't my plan to get the ME rating, unless I was thinking about changing careers and getting into aviation full time. Not there yet. For the person who asked about flying altitudes, I'll be ok 12,000-20,000 MSL, though not entirely...

Plane Ideas for Recurring X-Country Mission

Hi All: I'm a fairly new pilot, 120 hours training in Bay Area flying. Should have my PPL finished before EOM after the (4th rescheduling) of the checkride. Everything from weather, location, DPE availability, and mechanical have made that experience fun. Going to start on my instrument rating...

Flight school/club in the Bay area

I am training with wvfc in a c-172s g1000. It took me about 30 hours of dual before I soloed. They have a lot of extra checks with quizzes and phase check rides with other instructors before letting you up. Bay Area airspace is very tricky and they want you to have experience at multiple...
