So taking a look at my screen, I'm not sure if the lcd is delaminating or if it is the reflective coating coming off. It would be great news if I can get by and scrub the coating off.

I just noticed my transponder doing exactly the same thing you mentioned above. The whole time in the air I was thinking it was something wrong with faa broadcasting towers not transmitting the data correctly. Hopefully they will get a fix for this so we won't have to go through this again...

Just call ATC and tell them what you want to do. I flew my validation flight all inside a the outer ring of a class C airspace. ATC will let you know or vector you if they have approaching traffic.
