    Round Two

I obtained my PPl in 2019 at age 62. Only regret is not doing it younger. Medical was an issue for me. Managed to obtain by a special issuance. Defintely do a consult before doing the Med Express thing. one of my first flights was into Hickory

    GTN 750 Arrival Procedure

I fly into F45 a lot. Most times I’m given the Ttylr3 arrival. Like you I’m always already past the transition points. I just fly direct Ttylr then fly a heading as depicted. I never load the transition procedure. i’ve had the same questions

900+ hours and still learning basic stuff

I’ve got 750 hours or so. Recently filed this flight -lan. KBCT KLAL KOCF KAUO. When ATC started questioning me about landing at KLAL it caught me totally off guard. I’d never heard to not use the K if simplying over flying the field. Now I know

Another post about how awesome it is to be instrument rated..

Great writeup. I agree with you entirely. 750 hour pilot here. Got my IFR ticket in January of this year. A great feeling to know if you plan a trip fairly confidant won’t need to cancel due to weather. More than once during training, I’d come home and tell the wife I’m quitting. I’m too stupid...

Any good landing tips while on final?

After reviewing my logbook, I have the same number of takeoffs as landings. That’s important

    TN or NA

Just for the record, I decided to go with the TN. I haven't made the trade yet. Plan to look at the plane today and make a decision. I struggled with the decision of whether to go TN or not. Most decisions I deal with the scales are heavily balanced one way or another and the decision is pretty...

Would be interesting to know about each voter. Are they a cross country flyer or local burger run pilot. Would be interesting to know if their budget is limited or not. Also flat landers vs Colorado mountains

RgBeard. Excellent post. I’ve had an entire mix of responses. Both from people with first hand experience, and from people spitballing about maintenance costs they know nothing about. A few people spitball about maintenance costs and don’t know the difference between a true turbo and a TN...

Boredom on a Sunday morning? Why not? Because I can? I’m interested in the responses? Curiosity?

Many choices. Turboprop. Jet. Twins. If money wasn’t an issue I’d like one of each.

I have a 2010 G36 NA. I have an opportunity to trade for a 2014 G36 Turbo Normalized. I mostly fly east of the Rockies in the flat lands. I’ve had all the normals concerns with the turbo normalized. Maintenance costs. Benefits. I reached out to several of my mentor pilots asking their thoughts...

PPL on 9-11-19 IFR rating on 1-4-22 Almost 700 hours total time. Continue to learn. It has been a challenge and a blast. Had a flight to SE Florida a few weeks ago that I couldn’t have taken VFR. First leg was to Ocala and was simple and uneventful although was in the soup some. Next leg was...

WDD, good luck on the checkride. The only advice I can offer is take your time. I flew 3 approaches back to back at the same airport. Between the first and second approaches I almost blew it, as there wasn’t much time between them. After barely getting through the second approach successfully...
