We put a garmin g3x panel in the Velocity VTwin we’ve been building. 2 460’s, 750, G5, 45R, remote com, remote audio panel. I can’t get the 460 pfd to establish the rs232 connection to and control the transponder. I verified the wiring to the right pins. It’s all wired per a Steinair diagram...

    Salvage windshield

My hangar mate got a crack in the pilot side windshield on his King Air. Last year he bought some misc parts from a salvage place in MS or maybe TX. Before paying $18K for a new one he wanted to see if a used one was available. He can't remember now the name of the place he used before. Anyone...

    Transponder question

I'm in the process of putting a Searey back together. My hangar partner bought it a few months ago in pieces in a trailer. Hopefully the pic came across. The transponder was mounted up behind the pilot. Who knows why. I've moved it to the panel. The antenna is mounted above the cockpit on the...

    Seneca question ........

Today I noticed on a new Seneca at our airport there are trim tabs on the flaps. I'd never seen this before. What exactly are those for? They were bent down so as to force the flaps up. RT

    License pulled for medical deficiency??

An aquaintance on another forum said that the FAA had sent him a letter suspending his pilot certificate for a detached retina from several concussions. I think this was some time ago .. not recent. Now I can see them pulling a medical cert if they're aware of a deficiency .. but the pilot...

    Linux VPN client

I would like to be able to use my Ubuntu Linux PC (10.10) here at home to connect to our office network so I can get to our iSeries. Our firewall is a Tipping Point (3Com) and uses L2TP IPSec. None of the VPN clients that show up in the package manager will do that. Any ideas? Thanks. RT

    Titan Tornado II S - Exp/AB

I've decided to sell my Experimental I built 3 yrs ago. It's a lot of fun to fly but I need to concentrate on getting stuff paid off for retirement right now and don't fly it enough to warrant it just sitting out there. At some point I'll probably get back into a TC'd aircraft with IFR...
