I double checked the wires were to the correct pins. Exactly like the diagram. There’s only one rs232 connection between the two. And the transponder isn’t on the CAN bus. I emailed G3Xpert@garmin.com. Maybe they’re just behind.

    G3X challenges

We put a garmin g3x panel in the Velocity VTwin we’ve been building. 2 460’s, 750, G5, 45R, remote com, remote audio panel. I can’t get the 460 pfd to establish the rs232 connection to and control the transponder. I verified the wiring to the right pins. It’s all wired per a Steinair diagram...

    V-Twin Down Janesville

As part of our testing, we've been watching the pitch/buck (canard stall) as we move the CG back from the first flight box. Yesterday our test pilot was seeing around 66 kts while still having good roll control. That was probably around 3000 pounds.

    V-Twin Down Janesville

Don .. I was thinking 9 or 10 flying. There were 6 when we started ours with Ron’s being the last. It seems like 3 at the factory flew after that. And ours.

    V-Twin Down Janesville

We're watching this closely, since we have the VTwin we've been building for a little over 2 years in Phase One flight testing now. I remember seeing the blue and white N13VT over at the factory. Most (all?) of the flying Twins were built at the builders center. We built ours at our hangar but...

Most Reliable Plane You've Owned vs. Least Reliable

I've owned several TC'd planes and 3 Experimentals .. 2 of which I built. I'd have to say the Warriors were the most reliable. The two Sonex the least. And the issue with the Sonex isn't the plane itself .. it's pretty bulletproof. My experience has been the lack of reliability of the Aerovee...

    AOPA closing forums

Not surprised to see AOPA closing the forums. I started out here when this board was initiated in response to their closing them once before. I quit AOPA a few years ago after having been a member since 1979. Their focus just wasn't on the kind of flying I do. Then when they did all this hype...

So, homebuilders...who are we and where do we stand?

We got the engines on the Twin V … but took them back off to do the nacelles and cowls.

    It's over

Sorry to hear this, Tom. Thoughts and prayers go out to you for a full recovery. Even if you're not crawling around airplanes you still have a wealth of knowledge to share.

    Anyone Flying a Velocity V-Twin?

That page shows 215k TAS with 360s for the twin and 195k TAS for the XLRG at 75% power. It show's the twin at 195k at economy cruise. Do I think it'll true out at 215K? Not really. But given that the friend I'm helping build it is talking about having engines built that are over 180hp .. who...

    Anyone Flying a Velocity V-Twin?

"The single will walk on the twin." In what way? Other than the turbo .. the website shows better performance for the twin. I guess we'll find out ... the build's a go. RT

    Anyone Flying a Velocity V-Twin?

I'd love to see a builders log on the V-Twin. We're about 90% sure we're going to build one of these. RT

    Velocity V-Twin

We're thinking about building one of these. Visited the factory and was impressed. Very cool plane. I need another project and my hangar mate wants one. RT
