    Strange Approach into KELP

Thanks for all the answers! I would presume that all was OK with the plane as it flew very low over the Franklin Mountains, twice. As I posted. I flew into KELP earlier that day. Tower had me deep in Mexico to avoid traffic departing 26L before I was allowed to turn inbound.

I don't know. First time I've seen them on the app. Those dashed lines are on the entire flight.

    Strange Approach into KELP

My son flew from KHOU to KELP on Saturday, July 30, 2022., SW 3539. Some 30 miles east of KELP the pilot made several heading changes west then north then west then began the decent into KELP. For some reason, the plane flew west over KELP and continued west over the Franklin Mountains at...

    Constant Speed Propeller Question

I just got my 3 blade McCauley back from the shop with almost the same identical hours on it. Same plane R182. The seals started to leak. Fortunately mine had no wear and all ways good accept the seals.

Mount BatteryMinder Control Unit Inside Plane?

School me please. My limited understanding of electricity is switch on or switch off.. Is a battery minder specific to a brand of battery i.e. concord vs Gill. If not, why does my $$$$ aviation specific battery charger have a dip switch specific to my battery brand..and it must be set correctly...

    Cessna 182P Shore Power

I thought my POH stated as you posted above. I don't have it with me now. But it seemed, if I remember correctly, that the battery voltage continued to drop when I attempted to provide power through the external power port and I powered on the avionics.

    Cessna 182P Shore Power

So if I want to update databases, mess with the avionics etc for a long period of time I must use a battery tender or similar to keep my battery charged in my ‘79 R182? I think I answered my on question

My R182 is now straight legged

Finally got my plane to the shop to trouble shoot the issue. A broken wire from the pressure switch to ??? I will find out which wire when I pick it up tomorrow. Thankfully not expensive and yes I probably could have found it myself but not enough time to do it correctly. Besides, I'm sure it...

My R182 is now straight legged

Hoping for a better outcome. I replaced / rebuilt the power pack, motor, pressure switch and selector valve about two years ago.

My R182 is now straight legged

While on the ground, simply turning on the master will not pressure the system if any one of the many switches in the system is in op i.e. squat switch, down switch etc. Is this correct? All the stars must be aligned for every thing to work? Also, what locks the gear down in place? A mechanical...

My R182 is now straight legged

So on the nose gear of the R182 there are three switches Squat Switch, Nose Gear Down Switch (located on the actuator) and Up Switch. Why a down switch and a squat switch?

My R182 is now straight legged

You are correct. Down is a whole lot better than up. That’s why on second attempt to retract and finding the “at hand” items to be OK I returned to the airport and landed. Gladly I was able to look at a complete airplane:D

My R182 is now straight legged

Thanks for all you guyzes input! The nose gear is ok and has not changed stance/pressure wise. I was thinkin of tracing the wire leads to see if one is broke as suggested because it makes sense that it is an electrical issue. The selector valve was overhauled less than two years ago at the same...
