Yep, prob headed down the road of dumping the tail beacon. On my previous Cessna had the Skybeacon removed as well for Garmin. Some people have good luck with the beacons, for myself, I have had nothing but problems with those products.

I haven’t had a Kelley instrument last more than 18 months. Unfortunately mine have stop working after their 12 month warranty. Contacted their customer service and zero help besides offering to sell me another unit at full price. Plane now in the shop, removing the vacuum system.

Based on experience, definitely not Kelley.

Received a replacement SkyBeacon today, after emailing with tech support on my installed unit Uavionix wanted to exchange mine for a new one. Assuming my next validation flight, after install of new unit, will receive a passing grade.

I have a 1971 Cessna 150L, with Skybeacon installed using an oem provided adapter. My A&P trimmed it a bit to fit, per instructions, and he said install was very straightforward. Now, I just need to pass my validation flight.

I have a complete Private Pilot CD-ROM discs labeled from Cessna Pilot Center, which includes CD ROM discs produced by King. Let me know if you are interested. There's a total of 29 discs.

My Cessna 150 is currently in for annual inspection, and the A&P informed me that it wasn't making the audible sound when activated therefore I decided to replace with a new 406 style ELT....if you still need one.
