Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

Well, my CFI is retired from the Navy. I did actually go flying with him a week ago. I haven't changed flight schools. He was just light weight so it worked. I really like him. I had to take a break away from flying and intend to go back more intensely in Oct. But, I'm going to ask for a...

Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

I am on a forum of just these planes. I have not saw one in person but I considered doing so as there is one for sale in FL. Maybe a CTSW? But I will be ok to start my weightloss journey again soon. I want the option of flying different planes. I am considering trying a different flight school...

Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

Maybe because all my family is trying to get me to come visit anyway! I'll see if it's still available. I haven't logged in here in awhile to see the newest comments. Thanks!

    Ground School First?

I'm not sure what the book was that she was showing me because it reminded me of dorm room days and I ran as fast as I could!

    Ground School First?

I honestly watch them for entertainment more than learning. The only ones that I was seeking information from were what was sent on here. I viewed the Embry-Riddle Ones. I have 2 that I watch. MrAviation101 and RedDevilSquadron.

    Ground School First?

My school encourages youtube videos. I have looked at a few. I will be looking at all the things posted in this thread as well. I am both visual and hands on. Those straight knowledge books made me question my sanity. I was standing in the pilot store wondering what I got myself into until she...

    Ground School First?

Thank you for this information. Life/work always has other ideas for us! I will keep this in mind. I just need to set out a consistent schedule and be able to stick to it after completing this online course.

    Ground School First?

I did see information about the knowledge test. Perhaps, this is why the school says they make 100% sure you're ready for the FAA exam before allowing you to go forward and take it. I'm excited to learn all of the information. I just think for me, I needed to slow down to take more of it in at once.

    Ground School First?

When I started on this journey...I understood ground school to be the CFI teaching on the ground before each lesson. Well, the way it went for me, I quickly realized it was moreso this training guide online. Of course, I was told this would be better than the book since it updates when things...

    Ground School First?

I really wanted to be able to go over the ground school information more than once. Since this one tells me which questions I have answered correctly/incorrectly, I can judge how well I am learning the information and where I am needing more clarification. I was on the how fast/cheap can I get...

    Ground School First?

Thank you. I will check out these resources. I like my CFI, just thinking this may be a better route and save me some money. I am still able to call him with any questions while working through the Cessna Training.

    Ground School First?

I am not but my instructor is only 135lbs so it evens out.

I have done a Discovery Flight and my first lesson. I have 2 hours in my log book so far.

    Ground School First?

I currently have the Cessna training kit. Once I complete it, would I then take the written test, complete flight training then do the check ride? Has anyone done it that way? Any regrets? Do you feel it provided any advantages? Ill be training in the Cessna 162.

Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

I will ask again next week. I am sure he's probably the only instructor light enough in this area to train with though. I am going to meet him and see what I think with a Discovery Flight. The flight school he is at has given me the best impression as far as customer service/caring/answering all...

Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

I would then say that I'd stick with the 162 because Cessna has been around so long. I'm not sure of the others.

Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

Not worried about the offloading. I was just providing the information I was given to be able to train in it. It seems more likely that I would find the CTSW for sale, which I have already. Sorry to hear about your crash. I will be setting up a discovery flight next week, so I will ask him...

Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

I will be training in the Skycatcher. We just won't have full tanks of fuel. What do you think of it as far as a plane that you would purchase?

Cessna 162 Comparables? Useful Load? LSA now or later?

That's the only LSA they have for training. My plan was originally to purchase a plane to train in, which with the now even more limited options, I may wait until I lose the weight to start.
