    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

That’s what I thought when buying a 210 (io-550), but the practical 182 for me in a Alaskan mission outweighed my get their fast of the 210. Still have both but flying the 210 down south and putting up for sale soon. Don’t want to but lots of $$$ tied up. I wish I could keep both but need to...

Is There a True 6 Person + Luggage Light Twin?

The baggage compartment is restricted to 120lbs, which might be the limiting factor. Not necessarily the baggage space, as you could load above the wheel well too. The 3rd row seats are in front of the wheel well. Loading a 210 outside of the CG range would be a challenge, the CG envelope is...

Is There a True 6 Person + Luggage Light Twin?

Here is a video of a 210. I agree back seats aren’t the biggest. Great place for the smallest two on the plane. Fast, easy platform to fly and I don’t have to load over a wing. I have the IO-550 and flight plan for 165kts and 17 gal per hour ROP. The plane has 1503 lbs useful load. Almost...

    Foreflight is now Boeing

I will stick with foreflight too. Played with Gamin pilot. Went right back to FF. Still have the subscription, but it will likely get canceled on renewal. Even with the free IFR upgrade with my Garmin One-pack subscription. I’m with you, I don’t want to learn a new program. Plus, I’m happy...

Cessna 206 (Stationaire) How Does The Copilot get in?

When we traveled for sports back in high school. We would load up in the 207s and tail would drop, pilot would hop in. The plane wouldn’t drop on its nose wheel until the pilot fired up the engine. Pretty impressive plane tho. Lots in operation in bush Alaska as air taxis.

    411 0n Cessna 177 Cardnial

This^^^ You pay a bunch more for a 210 VS Cardinal. Also the OP was looking for a 150hp without retracts???

    411 0n Cessna 177 Cardnial

If you come across a 182 that could true out at over 160kts let me know. What about the two extra seats in the later models, hardly a strut-less 182, IMO. In my NA 210M, with the IO-550, I flight plan for 160kts @ 17gph 75-100° ROP. 1503lbs useful. Most of my flights are 305NM “A-B” and it’s...

iPad Mini 5 is coming next year

Yes, advertise mini size with iPad sized screen. A win for pilots.

iPad Mini 5 is coming next year

I was hoping they would keep the 9.7” screen but make the bezel smaller. Look like they kept the size and expanded the screen.

iPad Mini 5 is coming next year

No kidding what a bummer. Hoping just not ready. They did introduce a USB-c on the iPad Pro https://www.apple.com/apple-events/?&cid=wwa-us-kwgo-features---slid-&mnid=s2n2MNzNP-dm_mtid_20925e1t39169_pcrid_306414753319_&muid=4060EB02-8089-4D9B-BB4C-DF8153FAD4BE&mtid=20925e1t39169&aosid=p238

    Jet A vs gasoline

It can’t even be a fraction of the unleaded impact on the environment. How about the lead acid batteries in every rig? I throw away at least 15 every year through my fleet. I like to burn AVgas... I guess I am extra bad for the environment. That said if I could get a affordable diesel in my...

    Cessna 182 Diesel Conversion

That will burn a little more fuel and a engine that cost more then the plane, ouch. Would love to have one and be able to afford one.

Hurricane Michael's aftermath on Fighter jets

Working construction on AF bases for the over 15 years I would say they have produced tons of jobs. I will say after working on them for that long the Bureaucrats haven’t been the best at spending the money. Could have done it a lot cheaper and efficiently. I could say the same for the LIOs...

    Cessna 182 Diesel Conversion

There is no reason to believe it wouldn’t be more reliable then its gas counterpart. I never said it would last as long as my marine or truck diesels, nor would I push it as long. However, it would be the most cared for diesel I own.

    Cessna 182 Diesel Conversion

I just wanted to add... take care of a diesel and it will last. Abuse a diesel it will last, but likely not as long. Warm ups are key just like any engine and allow the oil to cool the turbo. Not something I am religious about my duramax. Glad I was able to get rid of the def in my 2014 due...

    Katamarino's Alaska flight

Warmer then normal this fall and way wetter than normal. According to the predictors the winter is supposed to be warmer then normal, yuck Snow machining weather. Should help the heating bill though. South west AK.

    Cessna 182 Diesel Conversion

No need to kid anyone. My dad retired his Detroit diesels in his commercial fishing boat with over 15,000 hours on them. One had to be rebuilt at 5000 hrs due to a coolant overheat issue. They were still tuning when he pulled and sold them to the new owner. See how many gas engines make it...
