    CFII and MEI

That's definitely on the to do list. But I might as well do the other stuff while building the multi hours needed for the ATP.

    CFII and MEI

Oh I could. But it would be in something like a PC12 or a Caravan. Cape Air wouldn't even hire me right now since I don't have a commercial multi.

    CFII and MEI

Yes both commercial SEL and CFI. I'm wanting to go corporate, but I don't have my multi. Everything is in singles. So I need to get that done and I figured I'd go ahead and get the MEI done as well as CFII. Once I get those, I should be in a competitive position.

    CFII and MEI

"I see a pink slip in your future." That's quite insulting to someone such as myself who has dedicated their entire life (despite how short it's been) to aviation and has close to 3,000 hours. But it is all in ASEL. So I'm wanting a career change and I need multi-engine commercial and MEI to...

    CFII and MEI

I am not talking about experience. And no where did I say that I was going to instruct as an MEI as soon as I completed the training. In fact, I don't even plan on instructing as an MEI until many, many years down the road such as after retirement age and I'm instructing because I want to, not...

    CFII and MEI

You're probably right. That's why I've had the same 70 hour a week job for eleven continuous years since I was 18, employee of the month 71 times, and crew training director for the past eight years. But yeah, I'm not a reliable, good worker at all. I'm in no way capable of thinking outside...

    CFII and MEI

I’ve thought about that and will probably end up doing it. I’m not too worried about gaining more multi PIC, but was thinking more about cost savings. By doing the CFII before the MEI, I could save around $450 to $500 because the checkride time would count toward the 15 hours PIC for MEI. If...

    CFII and MEI

So how I've described the training above would work then? I can get my multi add-on, then complete my CFII including checkride, and then do my MEI?

    CFII and MEI

I'm considering different paths to completing my multi-engine commercial add-on, CFII, and MEI. One option that I am considering is completing my multi commercial add-on, then do my CFII training in a multi-engine as well as my MEI training to get my 15 hours multi PIC before doing my MEI...

King IFR - dates or ok / add on videos?

I used the King instrument course as well as the commercial. I will also be using their CFI course. Though some of the lessons were filmed many years ago, the material is still relevant today. When something changes, they create a new video or edit the current ones to reflect the changes...

    Teenager Student Pilots

My parents paid for my training up the the exact moment I could legally get a job; in this state it is 16. I got a job on my 16th birthday right after I got my driver’s license (used my own money I saved for several years to buy a car, just FYI) and I have paid for my own training and flight...

    Teenager Student Pilots

I hate when people classify the entire current generation as being useless and wanting everything given to them. I'm still part of the millennial generation, soloed at 16, private at 17, and I have my commercial checkride scheduled in 13 days and will be starting my CFI immediately afterwards...

    Glider Add-On

Thanks. That's what I was needing to know. Does anyone know if there's any test prep courses out there for the commercial glider written? All I've seen is for the commercial airplane written.

    Glider Add-On

Correct. I was just wondering if the commercial written for airplanes is the same thing, or will count in place of, the commercial written for gliders. The reason I ask is because I already have my CAX written done and if that will work in place of the CGX written, that would be great.

    Glider Add-On

Thanks for all of the info guys. I appreciate it. I interpreted the reg the same way as Nate. So I'm going to try for that and see what happens. If everything works out, I'll have my SEL commercial and CFI initial done by the time I start the glider training, so hopefully I can jump in with...

    Glider Add-On

That would be great. Thank you. Also, just because I'm curious since I can't find any info about it, can the commercial airplane written count toward the commercial glider written? Are they different exams? I have found some material that references them as two separate exams, but most...

    Glider Add-On

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I plan on taking the CGX written if I don't have my commercial airplane certificate done by then (which probably won't happen).

    Glider Add-On

I'm looking at getting my glider add-on and I have a quick question. I'm a private pilot with about 500 hrs PIC all in SEL. I'm wanting to get my commercial glider certificate, and I was just curious if I need to get my private add-on first or if I can go straight to the commercial. The FARs...

    Vacuum pump failure today

I've had a vacuum failure twice, both in older round dial 172s. Once in day IMC and once in night VFR. The night one was a none issue, but the IMC one was interesting. Those partial panel approaches you learn during instrument training does happen from time to time.
