    Yikes 2

I had exactly this happen to me at our untowered airport a few days ago. When the pilot (also in a Cherokee) announced he was taking the runway, I was just turning base to final. I had been calling my pattern all along on the radio too. Either way, I informed him (just in case he missed...

    Would you do it?

Yep - as mentioned, I'm not going to go nuts unless something really obvious pops at pre-buy. The price is right (to me at least and that's what matters). I definitely won't pull a cylinder. I will have the oil analysis done as they've at least been consistently doing that so we'll be able to...

Yep - that'll be part of the deal for sure

    Would you do it?

As could I, 'barely'.... Obviously, that's a lot of AVGas :)

    Would you do it?

Yep - it's that 50/50 part that has me scratching my head.. Feel like the guy on the other side of Clint Eastwood...."Do you feel lucky?"

    Would you do it?

I'm certainly leaning towards going for it. I'll likely put around 80hrs+ year.

    Would you do it?

I'm seriously considering purchasing a 1970 Piper Cherokee 180E located nearby. It's low airframe time at around 3200hrs. Engine is only 351 hrs SMOH (2005)and 87 STOH. New cylinders were put on 3 years ago to satisfy ECI AD. Airplane has been hangared in midwest (Iowa, Illinois, Ohio) for...

    Wanted: Aircraft Grumman Traveler/Cheetah

Hello all, I recently sold my very nice 152 and am in the market for a faster xc-machine. A friend of mine gave me a ride in his Cheetah a few weeks ago and that was that... Here's what I'm looking for: 1. Low AFTT and < mid time on Engine SMOH (overhaul fairly recent calendar wise too). 2...

    Davis Clark One-X Headset

I'll pile on. I love it. Very comfortable and light weight. Like GRG55 though, I'm pretty much a fan of DC and only have it to compare to the DC 13.4's that I replaced. Those are now for PAX.

How long did it take to get your PPL?

45hrs, 1996. Went every day weather & schedules allowed between 6/1 and 7/25. Flew for about 20 more hours then went dormant for 20 years with family, kids, etc. Started back up about 2 years ago and bought a 152 last month. Flying couple days a week again and loving every minute of...

Upgrading a C-152's avionics, have a bunch of questions

I totally get it, but I suspect FAA won't give on this anytime soon-ish. The fact is that ipads and Android devices are consumer device and can/do overheat/batteries die or just crap out. While they're great and I use them all the time in the cockpit, they're still consumer grade electronics...

Upgrading a C-152's avionics, have a bunch of questions

I'll take a crack at your questions: Garmin GTX345 - Yes, it has AHRS. It's pretty much the best/most expensive/most featured ADS-B Out Transponder combo (except maybe Lynx L3). ADS-B In compatible via Bluetooth with both Foreflight and Garmin Pilot. I think 2 external device max. Audio...

    Any Garmin GDL 39 Users?

Interesting. Would be nice to have a GDL-50 if ForeFlight supported it too.

    Any Garmin GDL 39 Users?

Not sure, but I'm fairly certain the GDL39-3D continues to support both. I've also read GDL50 series only supports Garmin stuff and not ForeFlight. I'd guess ForeFlight would be willing to support the GDL50 series, but no idea if Garmin would block it. ForeFlight is already willing to work in...

    Any Garmin GDL 39 Users?

Okie Flier has first dibs, but if not, I'd be interested. I just purchased an airplane that has a Stratus ESG transponder + Stratus 2i combo. But, I plan to swap the Stratus 2i with a GDL39-3D. The reasoning is that I also have a panel docked Garmin Aera that's incompatible with the Stratus...

Major repair in Log, but no 337

Happened in 1981 when the plane was 3 years old. Log entry simply states: "Left Wing Replaced with Wing that had been repaired. See 337 in File. Test Flown and Check Ok". There's a signature that's impossible to read. So, really tough to tell. I did request the owner to square it away...

Major repair in Log, but no 337

Thanks AKBill. Not sure I understand the 6 AIMISTEUTIVE PROCESSING part. But, any idea what would be involved to submit a new 337? (My first plane, so bear with the rookie questions :) ).

Major repair in Log, but no 337

Hello, I'm looking at purchasing an airplane that had a new right wing installed in 1981. This is documented in the logs and the log even references a filed 337. But, the FAA documents do not have the 337 included. And the owner doesn't have it. My question is this: Is this something I...
