Should I learn in a glass cockpit

I’m in my mid 20’s and learned to fly steam when I was 21. I did a da40 checkout full glass and the panel is what I struggled the most with. Once you know how to fly a plane the principles are the same across the board. Learning how to use and navigate the glass can be done on the ground where...

    Phone in Flight

I use my phone for log book purposes. The one plane I use doesn't have a hobbs, just a standard hour meter so it is out by a little ways. My flightbook is nice because I can tell it when I start the engine, when my first takeoff is, last landing, and engine shut down, calculating exact times for...

[NA]how far people will go for 1 second hall of fame...[NA]

That works too, I like the added security of being able to see from 10' away that there is no hope of the thing going off. I guess I was too emphatic though too and as such misleading, walking around or pushing bush, I'll be locked and loaded, biggest thing to remember is safety on, fingers AWAY...

[NA]how far people will go for 1 second hall of fame...[NA]

yeah i suppose you're right, lol. I've always got my chambers open all the time regardless of anything, until i'm just shy of ready to line up and shoot. It takes minimal effort and time to close the bolt should a target appear (hunting specific).

[NA]how far people will go for 1 second hall of fame...[NA]

Forehead at close range.....that's an awfully small target. Don't want to throw too many stones from my glass house but it makes you wonder. AND "didn't think it was loaded" CLEAR THE F#$%&%# gun before even picking it up you MORON!!!

They WERE following this rule! They wanted to shoot the book!

This is why we need a "Court of Common Sense" before lawsuits are allowed...

If this makes it through, I'm going to start taking speed limits in canada as meaning miles per hour, and sue when I get a ticket, saying they should have specified kilometers per hour.

How to get an intro ride without screwing folks

I did my discovery flight at a local school knowing full well ahead of time that I definitely DID want to get my license, I just wanted to verify I could stomach it. A year and a half later I finally started, but I went to a different school. That decision was based on locale, now that I'm back...

My father-in-law flipped out at me for taking my wife up during an Airmet Tango

OP did do more research, he was THOROUGHLY educated on current conditions before going up. He go PIREPs from pilots just coming down. He has every right to defend his position. He never said the AIRMET Tango was no reason for concern.

Zulu 3 in a quiet cockpit

misread your Transport vs GA post, and did not look up the original craft in your post. Apologies

    Trolls against GA

I think that's the main contributing factor, I know I tend to feel heated every time I'm near one, hear one, or see one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Looking for a checklist app

I haven't been looking for anything THAT advanced, but a nice checklist app would be sweet! customizable a little to add a few points to a basic checklist

    ForeFlight Log Book

What are the potential legalities (Canada if it makes a difference) regarding switching entirely to ForeFlight eLog and ditching my book? Has anyone else done it? Pros/Cons?

    Flight Chops Pitts Acro

How do you know that's not what I was going for? I kid! Just watching a bunch of his videos following his progress through various checkouts and training, running into him at OshKosh, and seeing all the different places he goes for training, it was just cool to know he was only a few miles away...

    Flight Chops Pitts Acro

I wanted to watch him in person from the ground while he was in the practice area, so his producing skills wouldn't have affected much. It was more just knowing who's in the plane training making it more worth while to see.

    Flight Chops Pitts Acro

Wouldn't necessarily, it's just the fact of knowing who's in the plane that makes it more fun to watch. It's just like watching anything else really, you either have to be super interested in what you're watching by default or know someone that's participating, both is an added bonus.

First real cross country with the family

I've used that with 25 year old PAX. It's just easier than asking them to shut up

First real cross country with the family

I appreciate your apprehension on this. I can't say I for sure would've put this much thought into it! The one thing I'm thinking is, you need to make sure your wife is capable of managing PAX. If airsickness is a thing your kids struggle with, you need to be able to focus on controls and not...
