I bought one of those combination lock boxes that the real estate agents use and put it on the back door of my house. Now I have a secure spare key that is simple to get at.

Yeah, I've flown plenty of perfect patterns only to bounce the heck out of the landing. I've flown plenty of screwed up patterns only to smoothly kiss the pavement, too. A good pattern helps, but as Eamon demonstrated is not absolutely required (gotta try that sometime).

That doesn't make sense though (not that the FARs do in general) - you ARE allowed to invite people to go flying with you and share expenses. Is this an academic question or real life question? If a friend calls me and asks if I want to go out for lunch and I fly and we split expenses there is...

Everyone has different minimums. You made the right decision for yourself - I probably would have launched with that weather. The trick is knowing how to interpret what the briefer (who doesn't know your minimums) is telling you as well as the other weather sources.

Kath, do you have a bike? I may be going alone (Anne twisted her ankle) so I have room to carry a second bike with me (and a passenger, of course).

Two outta three ain't bad, right? Actually I got none out of three... now I'm about 2 1/2 - still need the exterior painted but that's not happening any time soon. Then I can start in on the speed mods... :)

Whew!! When do you order your new interior then? :) It only took me about 11 hours to get mine installed (couple o' roadblocks). I'll post pics and writeup when I have 'em, in another thread.

Ha - I thought you were all about Mooneys now?? The interior is just about done, just need a couple more screws and a few small pieces of carpeting. And I need to take pictures. I suppose it would be nice to figure out where the 2 big screws I have left over are supposed to go but the plane...

Great pictures! Except the editing made me look fat. Oh wait, maybe I really am fat... At least the stopped prop makes more sense now, right...? :)
