^ I get it. But that doesn't mean it doesn't suck for people getting booted from the flights they paid for. There were something like 3,000+ people who didn't volunteer but were kicked off flights last year. That sucks for each of them.

Overbook policies suck. I would be outraged, too. But my sympathy for the guy runs out as soon as security shows up to escort him off and he still refuses. You're not flying, don't make it more dramatic than it needs to be. Call your lawyers from the terminal, not from jail or the hospital...

You'll only be about 25 mins from Van Nuys, too. Plenty of schools up there to rent from. Catalina can be tricky, definitely want to go with someone familiar with the airport. It's fun though. Enjoy!

Wow - they have supplemental oxygen for pets too?! That's pretty cool. I've seen the ear protection, but the oxygen is a new one for me! On topic: if I were flying with my dog frequently, especially if they're longer trips, I'd definitely invest in some muffs. It can't hurt to try them. Dogs'...
