    CFII

wow.. what an angry thread at times lol. What I find funny is that the FAR/AIM book tells you everything (in my opinion anyway) in clear English. Im amazed so many dont understand the difference between certs and ratings.. this should be PPL level knowledge. Im sure there are CFI-I l's out there...

    Post CPL Options & Recommendations?

dont quit your corporate job and do ATP part time. Not everyone gels with ATPs "program". So its good to have that job as backup.

Did your parents/family support your journey to get a sport pilot or private pilot license?

Me personally... (I don't have kids yet).. but I would find it nerve racking to watch my daughter (a daughter would be nice lol) do her first solo. Becuase I know so many things can go wrong. Like @eman1200 I didnt tell any family members when I was training because I didn't want them to worry...

    Online ground school!!

I did self study (many material and vids, FAA books etc.), bought the ASA test prep BOOK ($24??), used their prepware code to get sign off. Total cost was the price of the test prep book. I did this for PAR, IRA, and CAX. There is no reason for anyone to spend 16 weeks in a "ground school" and...

Hello! Student Pilot...and a question that has probably been asked before...

@ citizen your making no sense. Also, as other posters have said, obviously doing pilotage/dead reckoning in the day is better than at night. But back to the OP question, yes you can do both and it would count. BUT, I still recommend doing the day dual XC, remember that your still going to do...

Hello! Student Pilot...and a question that has probably been asked before...

@ citizen, I respectfully disagree. Are you saying indirectly that a night flight can not ALSO be a XC??. I think the list are more "requirements" and not things.. The CFI can take his student on a dual nite XC that is over 100nm away.. do 10 TO/LAND in pattern.. and make it 3hrs of flying...

Overwhelmed by the amount of Schools

@ Christian IF I may make an observation(s).. with respect. Becoming a pilot (especially airline pilot/professional) is not something you just wake up one day (for those people who had no previous thoughts on airplanes, you have no idea what an elevator is, etc etc) and say.. "I want to fly an...

    FOI and CFI study materials

@AggieMike88 I took the FOI/CFI/AGI/IGI tests, passed them all first try with very high marks. I recommend the ASA test prep books (CFI/AGI/IGI is super covered) and FOI. BUT I also strongly recommend the Dauntless pc program for the FOI.. the dauntless pc program has about 150 extra questions...

    All kind of landings

@ wannfly - wow, sounds like you had a great student pilot lesson lol. im not a cfi, but this worked for me nailing landings during training. this MAY help you. 1. fly down to the runway (nose down) 2. cross the runway 3. power idle (your now a glider) 4. level off to stop your descent 5. HOLD...
