Center of Gravity & Percentage of Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

Thank you for the heads up Dr. Chien! The Gleim information is certainly helpful.

Center of Gravity and Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

Interesting - thank you for the heads up. I use FF but my primary airplane doesn't rely upon %MAC calcs. I'll look and see if I can set up W&B profiles for %MAC for a specific airplane and not all of them. I found one of several SkyLeader 600 profiles but the one I chose didn't have any...

Center of Gravity & Percentage of Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

100/MAC= 100/1273,99= .0785 So this is essentially the CG value divided by the MAC which would give you % MAC. Sound correct to you Capt. Thorpe?

Perfect! Thank you again MauleSkinner. I appreciate your assistance on this.

Center of Gravity & Percentage of Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

I have enough information to confirm that the units are (mm) and I know that the MAC is 1273.99 mm so you spot on with your presumption on the MAC. The POH says that the CG limits are 20% to 30% MAC.

Center of Gravity and Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

MauleSkinner - Thank you! Very helpful reply. The LEMAC is 74,7 and the MAC is 1273,99 which would make the TEMAC (1273,99 - 74,7)/100 = 11,99. What you suggested makes sense to me but doesn't jive with the 0,0785 value. I'll have to keep digging on this one.

Center of Gravity & Percentage of Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

Initial Fix & Capt. Geoffrey Thorpe; Thank you both for your feedback - sometimes it just takes a fresh set of eyes to notice some things that should be obvious. The 74.7 (mm) converts to 2.941 (inches) and is in fact the offset between the datum and the leading edge MAC. That makes sense now...

Center of Gravity and Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

I posted this in the light sport forum but am posting here in hopes of reaching a broader audience. Hoping that someone in this forum has some experience with CG calculations as a percentage of the MAC. I'm a GA pilot but am starting to fly some in a SkyLeader 600. The W&B calcs are based upon %...

Center of Gravity & Percentage of Mean Aeronautical Chord (MAC)

Hoping that someone in this forum has some experience with CG calculations as a percentage of the MAC. I'm a GA pilot but am starting to fly some in a SkyLeader 600. The W&B calcs are based upon % MAC values and I'm not accustomed to using MAC. I have the formula from the POH but am trying to...
