Complex/HP insurance for low time private pilot

A somewhat local broker https://heltonins.com/ but I don’t recall the name of the actual carrier off the top of my head.

Aspen Avionics, Trio Avionics Release Integrated Autopilot Packages

Have been following this evolution of the Trio on their facebook page. The questions I have are what is a reasonable install time for this combo in a legacy aircraft (say Cessna 170/180 series) with only a current 6pack (i know that’s kind of asking how long is a piece of string) and what are...

Complex/HP insurance for low time private pilot

With 250 hrs, no IR yet, no complex or high HP, 185K hull on new to me 182RG this year cost me 6K-required 10 hours dual and 5 hours solo. 40 dual seems excessive?

    Lien question

Thanks for the explanation-I was under the incorrect assumption the escrow services ONLY handled payment issues and the title services were separate.

    Lien question

Looks like the smart move, since I’m going to use an escrow company anyway-would be to use somebody like AIC-and they could handle the title issue also if needed

    Lien question

@luvflyin I brought the answer over here as that post was a duplicate-sorry-but yes-per the seller they are and signed off-but i don’t have confirmation yet-FWIW I tend to feel the seller seems legit and reasonable but also is not as concerned about the lien issue as I am

    Lien question

I plan on discussing with legal-but wanted to throw it out there for the peanut gallery. The plane I would like to make an offer has a 20 year old small mechanics lien against it. I had an old surprise lien on a prior plane so I’ve had to deal with removing one before, kind of a PITA. Obviously...

    Avionics install lead time

Agreed, I’d like to do it all at once but multiple factors probably won’t allow (lead time, budget, partner’s avionics aspirations, etc)

    Avionics install lead time

Definitely ok with a 440 if timeframe reasonable. Only used 430/650 but honestly never liked the menu flow to them.

    Avionics install lead time

If everything works out (which we know it always dose in aviation) I’ll hopefully be getting prebuy eval on plane purchase (sold my first plane 2 years ago-so by no means a pro at this but not a newbie either). The plane has a very old panel (kln 90/kx 155/ancient comm&transponder/skybeacon)...

    Comanche parts availability

Agree, hence my comment about decent useful load…i know not all Comanches have but some are in the 1100s..I’m a small dude so me+lady (who’s small)+another couple of average size+light luggage+legs no longer than her bladder can handle (which isn’t much!)..pretty limited choices in the 4 seaters...

    Comanche parts availability

In the market for a 4 seater with decent useful load and speed, moving up from 172, as I hope to finish instrument this year. One of the obvious choices to look at is the Comanche 250/260 series. Had a local AP give a hard no on this option because "you can't get parts for them". I can...

Missing Pilot and Plane in Kentucky

Very sad indeed. Bob was a gentle soul, always loved chatting about flying anytime I saw him around the hospital. Would always do the first Medical for free, just because. In fact was on his way home on to give two medicals on his memorial day off, nonetheless. Died doing what he loved but...

Missing Pilot and Plane in Kentucky

Nice guy, local doctor that I know reasonably well and veteran pilot. Only local AME, so the aviation community here is quite anxious as many of us know him. Prayers for safe return. http://www.wdrb.com/story/32102868/kentucky-state-police-searching-for-missing-owensboro-pilot
