    Interesting camo

Saw this helo flying overhead today. Any idea what the camo scheme is? Granted, I've not seen a billion military helicopters, but I've seen enough to think this one is unusual. Tis an Army Lakota.

    Flew again today...

For the first time in nearly two years. 1.2 on the clock and probably another hour or two in the air before I feel comfortable again. It was good to get back but frustrating to experience the degradation of skills. Jeff Goldblum once said that life finds a way.. the corollary being that life...

Engineer's take on the 737 MAX design

And this is where I jump in. He's not saying it just because people disagree with him. Certain people both on this board and in media coverage have made sweeping generalizations about the western world versus the rest of the world after these incidents. Pretending that it doesn't exist is...

Ethiopian Airlines Crash; Another 737 Max

Same part of the world? You mean... Planet Earth? Or you just mean literally anywhere other than the western world? Africa and Southeast Asia are not exactly the same place. We have a relatively brand new aircraft already providing faulty data to a flight control computer with zero redundancy...

Ethiopian Airlines Crash; Another 737 Max

Uhhh... Because he said allahu Akbar moments before the plane smacked into the ground instead of "oh ****." Doesn't scream criminal to me.

Ethiopian Airlines Crash; Another 737 Max

Not saying that's not a good question. But I'm also saying that it is a worthy question to ask Boeing why they thought that a single failure mode that could fly the plane into the ground was acceptable.

Ethiopian Airlines Crash; Another 737 Max

The pilots should have known better. But so should Boeing. A single failure mode on something that controls 2.5 degrees of elevator at a time? Definitely a design failure.

BOEING 767F crash near Houston in the bay Atlas cargo

58% of all aviation fatalities occur during the approach to landing phase of flight... so even if all three Boeing products crashed during that phase, it'd only be a little weird that it was 3 out of 3 instead of 2 out of 3. Takeoff and climb accounts for about 22%. So it statistically is...

BOEING 767F crash near Houston in the bay Atlas cargo

Wasn't it just the one guy? 270 ish posts and only one guy getting the two mixed up... Not bad for an internet forum.

BOEING 767F crash near Houston in the bay Atlas cargo

Because they aren't necessarily in the business of releasing audio of people dying. Might be a touch rough on the families and it isn't strictly like the public NEEDS the info.

    Boeing 737s Grounded

I got into mountain wave once. Autopilot commanded fairly aggressive pitching up to try to regain altitude in the downdraft .. which almost put me into a stall. Never trained for it but figured speed = life so I kicked the AP to the curb and put my nose down. Pretty scary when automation takes...

Trump says: Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly

As far as the source of this article... I don't want a celebrity's opinion being used to do anything substantive. Be it a Trump or a Kardashian or an Ocasio-Cortez. I want good information that enhances safety. Not kneejerk reactions based on feelings.
