Five months for me, which just happened to coincide with my Archer’s annual and subsequent cam/lifter replacement. The doc said to figure on a year for recovery. I’m eight months in now and probably regained about 75% mobility.
There is a report now that the pilot was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown through the windshield as the plane nosed over and then landed on top of him. How sad and unfortunate.
Approximately 3:15 pm today a Cessna, possibly a 172, crashed on final at Ukiah. The pilot sustained fatal injuries. The airport remains closed until 10am tomorrow.
Remove the rear bulkhead access panel and watch/listen to the trim unit while someone operates the switch on the yoke. These are fairly simple units and it might be an easy diagnosis and repair. The cork clutch disc is an easy fix.
Amazing coincidence. It was fifty years ago today, Sid Beamer and his wife flew off into the sunset (Pacific Ocean) on there way from Colexio to Ukiah. Never found, it set the stage for me becoming the Ukiah Volkswagen Dealer.
My son graduated UC Berkeley five years ago with an Engineering an Economics Degree. He went to work for Turner Construction right out of college. I believe he is in the $90k range. I keep telling him he is underpaid.
