I know this is a very old post, but wanted to give a big thank you for the information. We just flew the coastal and bay transitions today and I would not have had the confidence to even try without this post. It was an incredible experience, so thank you!

if you count the return trip today it was 11 hours. Flew to Nashville area, then a day trip to Memphis and back to Nashville. Home Today

Flew from Omaha (KMLE) to Portland, TN (1M5) last night. Sioux City, IA next weekend and Lakeland, FL (KLAL) the following week.

Both FF and Aerovie are great in their own ways. I personally use Aerovie for all my preflight weather planning because it's just so much better. For inflight I still use FF, but mostly because I'm used to it and have a Stratus.

There has been a lot of discussion on COPA about the "feel" when slow and the auto centering controls on the cirrus do have a small amount of tension at a full stall where a Cessna may be completely free due to interrupted airflow. However, the verdict that most pilots with far more experience...

I wish I could find it now, but there was a report I saw last year which showed Cirrus was the most flown cross country machine out there because of the utility and speed. They're most certainly not hangar queens. Obviously there are individuals who don't fly them for whatever reason and people...

With all due respect to that pilot I think technology is the last reason people are "spinning them in". People spin in all makes of planes and Cirrus is not immune to it unfortunately. The only way you spin it in is if you get slow and are uncoordinated. A six pack with an analog airspeed...

Full day today, but only one quick acceptance flight due to a storm rolling in this afternoon. Flies like a dream.

I don't have any experience with that school, but the transition training is an online course from cirrus with a standardized checklist for the CSIP to use on the flight portion. So yes it should be the same at any cirrus training center.

Taking delivery of ours in the AM tomorrow. I enjoyed reading this. I did get a chance to play on the Perspective+ bench trainer today and is very impressive.

iPad

I've been using Aerovie for about a year and hands down it's the best weather planning app on the market. As others have stated the vertical weather profile is absolute money. Another benefit is pirep submissions. It's very simple and effective and I kind of enjoy filling them out now. hah

You're assuming that we're not all broke after buying said $1M aircraft. haha

No kidding. I feel sorry for any pilot who wants to go flying with any of my kids. OK, sit down son we're going to do a full Q&A with a check ride before anyone in my family gets in your plane... :)

This is the paint scheme that I selected. It will look like this on the ramp, just have the N105KL tail number on it instead. I got the SR22 NA FIKI GTS with Oxygen. I did make a change to the interior. I wanted this paint scheme but the Carbon trim. I also liked the seats in the Platinum better...
