My husband loved chatting with all of you on Pilots of America. He died in a tragic accident on May 15 when he fell off a ladder here at home and hit his head on the concrete floor in the basement. I found him unconscious a few minutes later. He was flown to hospital by helicopter ambulance...

I'd just email them, using an unauthorized device through the corporate VPN system. Should work fine. ;)

It has overhead trimmings. That should be an adequate substitute.

Welcome to the PoA zoo, er, forum @digitalpilotnm. Always a treat to welcome another twin owner/pilot, and especially another Aztec owner. Congrats! :cheerswine: Now about the rules: Don't feed the animals; Pictures of a newly acquired plane are mandatory around this joint. :D

    Going to learn tail wheel

There's an incredibly wide range of experiences one can enjoy as a pilot - VFR & IFR, low & slow, pressurized/high & fast, back country, cross country, aerobatics, tailwheels, floats, amphibians, sailplanes, helicopters, gyrocopters, piston/turboprop/jet and I've probably missed a bunch. I...

And then you find there's an AD out on that patty, you have to buy a whole new replacement burger and that means your operating costs are triple those of a single burger lunch.

I'm wondering how long before @AggieMike88 decides the PoA twin engine pilot cohort is a bad influence and one to steer well clear of?

I've always worried about leaking vital fluids like ketchup and relish, and having to suspend operations and cage the burger.

Why would you need to go alone in the Aztec to OSH? I get people, including friends that are non-pilots wanting to know if I am going each year and asking if there's a seat available. It's a great travelling airplane, as you know. Take 3 buddies and all the camping gear you can fit in it for...

    Bo on the interstate

It's a Beech Sierra, not a Musketeer. The gear is retractable and the rear cabin door is on the opposite side from an A36 Bo. Beech made a 6-place version of the Sierra as an option. The rear door accesses the baggage area, or the rear jump seats, if they are installed.

No. I'm a mechanical engineer, but I absolutely hate road vehicles/boats/planes that are too "perfect". That's why I don't own a Toyota or Lexus, for example. They make excellent vehicles. But they have no faults, no personality, they are too perfect, and thus bland. I suspect it might be...

"Self-driving" cars should be a godsend for you. Exactly why I fly a taildragger.

MidAir at Centennial Airport Cirrus and Metroliner

:rofl: He's probably fortunate it tore the gear off. If it had not, the Cirrus probably would have been cranked head down-tail up and maybe not such a great outcome for either plane.

LOL, happy to comply first opportunity that presents itself. I still owe @eman1200 a ride as well, so maybe make the long trek (with adequate reserves of scotch) to Rough River next year? Yes, the rudder trim is a large knurled knob concentric with the elevator trim crank. I have electric...

The Aztec has a large vertical fin and a lot of rudder authority; you are correct that an engine out is generally comparatively uneventful. Not certain of course, but he might have been referring to the rudder trim when they shut down the RH engine?

Well, isn't that the darndest thang. All you good folks at that lil ol' Air Park must have a lotta friends with them errplanes that come to visit ya'll. :)

    Going to learn tail wheel

I would venture the overwhelming majority of tailwheel aircraft out there flying are "older ones without some other aerodynamic advances" compared to the number of converted Cessna 150/152s currently flying. Even the relatively modern Citabria in our Club fleet (which is newer than the last 152...

All my prior instructors said "land on the centerline". My tailwheel instructor insisted that I land on "the center of the centerline".

    Going to learn tail wheel

This statement is inaccurate. Just a few minutes doing upper air work in a simple taildragger that does not have frise differential ailerons will demonstrate how little most tricycle Cessna trained pilots know about using the rudder. For me, just doing something as simple as figure 8 steep...
