Interested in how many have trouble falling asleep in hotels?

Noise and bad pillows. I can handle a bad bed (though most places I stay are pretty good), but hotels that put 4 boulders in the bed thinking people can sleep with them drives me nuts. I used to travel with a small pillow but it takes up too much space. My routine is to turn the air way down...

    The big move!

Or just ignorant people speaking foolishly. I don’t know where you live, but I’ve spent my entire life in the South and Midwest and if I’ve ever heard the talk you allude to, it’s only from the Jerry Springer element of society. I don’t consider them representative of any group except for the...

    The big move!

The people you encounter are openly telling you that they *hate* people who don’t look like them or worship like them? The word hate seems to have been recently redefined to mean something quite different than it used to.

Maybe you forgot this one. It seems you want this forum to operate on your terms. Who are you to tell someone to not participate in a public forum? You think that because you have knowledge and experience in one area you get to dictate who contributes? POA is not your classroom. Hopefully your...

Good to know. The contract I had applied extra to future payments at the end of the loan, which was a bad deal for me and soured me on the practice. I haven’t had a mortgage since but have been considering it with the current rates.

That’s really helpful, thanks. I didn’t realize it was applied for the following month which obviously affects the benefit of early payment.

This sucks - Jessi Combs Killed chasing land speed record

A visit to a neuro-trauma unit would likely show the opposite. Plenty of folks suffer debilitating injuries from reckless lifestyles. There isn’t a selectable option for only fiery death. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of messiness for those who don’t quite cross that line. People can make their...

What would you like to add to your arsenal?

One of my favorites and I think they’ve finally started making some decent ones again.

What would you like to add to your arsenal?

I have the 45-70 in 18.5in and 26in barrels. I don’t shoot the short barrel as often b/c of recoil. But the 26in is extremely accurate. I can shoot the same MOA with it as my .243 out to 200yds. I also just like Marlin’s SS w/ laminate. They are nice looking guns.

I had a mortgage and that’s how I viewed it. I paid it off at the 12-13 year mark on a 30yr loan, but much past that and I was just going to keep to it. It seemed to me that the worst option was to pay some amount over the required payment each month. In that case, the lender benefitted the most.

This is a bit like Zeno’s paradox to me, it’s had my head in a knot. It may be what I don’t know that is causing my confusion. So here’s a question.... I thought payments over the monthly amount were applied to the end of the amortization schedule, or at least they were for me on a previous...

What would you like to add to your arsenal?

I had a knock at the door one night saying we had a cow hit in the road. It wasn’t mine but I head out there anyway. It had badly broken legs but the rest was unharmed. A neighbor came up saying it was his daughters, but she didn’t want anyone to shoot it. But she also has no other plan for what...

I did about 3yr comparison between having an account manager and putting everything in index funds, but balanced for risk. I was told beforehand that managers have a hard time beating the market by more than their fees. I wish I had listened because those 3 years cost me.

    Airline Pilots and Security

And a good example of the bureaucratic abuse we’ve been conditioned to accept. We repeatedly acquiesce to absurdity, and eventually quit expecting truth and reason to factor in to the process. A pilot can’t walk through the clown show with a small pocket knife but two minutes later, can sit at...

What would you like to add to your arsenal?

I didn’t know those existed. I introduced myself to .243 last year and was impressed, but didn’t even think to look for levers. That looks like a good youth-deer rifle for getting boys started on larger calibers.
