Can anyone tell me if there anyway to tell what model Bell helicopter this tail rotor assembly came off of? There are date stamps on the hub from 1977, that's all I can tell. I'd like to know what it was used on.
Thanks!
Now THIS is a paper airplane. A 1:60 scale model of a Boeing 777 made entirely out of manila folders. Took the guy 5 years to build and was so time consuming he eventually dropped out of college to finish it. Talk about attention to detail!:
Pictures of the whole build.
Story with time...
After half my family working on/building these aircraft in the GD/Lockheed plant in Fort Worth for most of my life, and seeing thousands in the skies over my hometown, its sad to see them used as aerial target drones now. Really cool pilotless drones yes, but still sad. :(...
My sister, cousin and I stumbled upon the Veterans Memorial Air Park in Fort Worth yesterday. I wasn't even aware that this air park was there! Very cool little aviation museum. It's actually three small museums combined: The Forward Air Controllers Museum, OV-10 Bronco Association and the B-36...
Hi folks,
I have an unusual request. My nephew is a film student at TCU in Fort Worth. He and a group of his classmates are producing a short film involving an aviation theme. They've asked for help in locating a small aircraft in the DFW area that they could photograph for reference shots...
I've had the (mis)pleasure of watching these guys work from closer than I ever imagined I would over the last two days (not my video though). They are my heroes today along with all the fire and law enforcement personnel who have worked for days with precious little breaks to try to control this...
News website says it's a "Experimental". If I'm reading the N number right, it's a:
2009 COSTRUZIONI AERONAUTICHE TECNA
P2004 BRAVO
Light Sport

Not sure if this has been posted before. I just stumbled upon it:
Tango Alpha Charlie: Texas Aviation Celebration
September 12, 2010 – January 9, 2011. Bob Bullock Museum, Austin, TX.
Good grief. I've joked about traffic being so bad that I could have ridden a horse and gotten to work faster, but that doesn't mean I want to feel like I'm riding one on a airliner!
Please don't let this be the future of air travel.
Hi Folks.
Does anybody know of anyone in Texas who can authenticate WWII collectibles (without costing me an arm and leg)? I have what looks to be a WWII pilot's emergency sustenance vest that I'd like to get authenticated. I've shown it to a couple of WWII pilot vets who tell me it looks real...
Ok you creative guys and gals. A friend of mine is looking for a cute and creative registered name and call name for a new lab puppy. Her husband wants something that says "speed or power". The dog's future is as a field trial dog.
They have friends who've already taken names like Mach One...
Helicopters (manned an unmanned) are having a bad week in the press!:
Ohio police chopper camera falls off, smashes cars
Bet that resulted in one or two "Dear Chief" memos. :rolleyes2:
Anyone traveling through DFW in the next couple of months, this might be a interesting exhibit to see.
Women's Museum exhibit lets history take flight
"The Women's Museum in Dallas has mounted an exhibition, "Dreams of Flight: A Journey Through Air and Space," through Oct. 31, that...
This certainly brings new meaning to the phrase "Flying out of DFW"! :D
This Is Not How You're Supposed to Fly Out of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport
I would have loved to have talked to this lady. Can you imagine the stories she could tell!

A friend emailed me this link to pictures of Iwo Jima aircraft. I thought you guys might enjoy. It's a shame to see so many crashed beautiful old birds, but fascinating pictures none-the-less. It really brings home what these guys faced over there. Apologies if it's been posted before.
A friend of mine sent this to me. It looks like some sort of dogfight on LSD, but I got a chuckle out of it. Probably some sort of Chinese propaganda, but it's very imaginative!
