    Confused about sleep apnea screening

Amen, brother. I did the sleep study as shown above, and since then, my blood sugars have been more stable (T1D), and the days (I think 10 over the last 10 years) that I haven't used it have been disasters. Even 5 hours of sleep with the CPAP on is better than 10 hours without it, and here's...

FAA publishes 1st/2nd class IDDM criteria

Yeah, the Dexcom Share is where I was going with it, after I thought about it. Then, is there a community CGM system out there, or is this to knock it down from ever happening? To me, this has all the logic of a CGM system that voices the numbers to you, and you have to write them down in your...

FAA publishes 1st/2nd class IDDM criteria

I've reviewed it, and it's pretty much what I thought it would be. A few thoughts: 1. At least we get to explain highs and lows. For example, waking up with a 400 mg/dl, and then a sharp drop, while on the surface might seem suspicious, but is easily explained with an infusion set that got...

    AC-120-76D and Private Checkride

$11 for Sectional Chart $399 for FlyQ IFR/VFR Lifetime subscription $1100 for iPad with 512GB memory and Cellular Having a backup plan for the iPad... Priceless. I had both, and my DPE had no problem with the iPad, and that was June 4, 2018. He asked me what I'd do if the iPad died because of...

    My Learning Path

Newberg, OR 2S6 My wife grew up there, and I think she'd appreciate the flyover the house, plus when we met, we lived in Sherwood, OR, just up the hill from Newberg. When we retire, we're moving back to the PNW, and will live in WA, and shop in Oregon.

Thank you! Since you're in Vancouver, how are the following airports for GA: Newberg, Aurora, PDX, Hillsboro? I may do some flying up there later this year, or next year. As for FBO's, who has a good pilot shop in Oregon (airport/FBO)?

    My Learning Path

I'm a pilot! We had a couple of missed opportunities - Tuesday we waited from 7am to 11 am for a clear skies, and it didn't happen. Yesterday, it finally got to 3000 feet and clearing, and so we went up, lost the engine, and I did my ABC's in order this time: Airspeed - 70kts, talked him...

    My Learning Path

My thought was, "He told me to go to the XXXX airport, and I should try for that." Not that he told me to land there, but we were headed there. All of the emergencies were planned during training and near airports, so that's what I thought I should do. It was that my mind clicked into what I...

    My Learning Path

Attempt #1: I got an unsatisfactory on the Emergency Engine Out procedures. For some reason, I got the local airport locked in my head, and I kept aiming for it, even though it was too far away. I was asked if I wanted to continue the test, and I did, and aced the rest of the tests, so my next...

He got my info, and I'm going to meet him when I'm up in the area, but I have to pass my checkride first... :D

    Nasty people on the radio.

Yeah, I'm like that too. When someone calls out in their jet airplane that they're on 10 mile final and I'm on crosswind in the Tomahawk, I tell them where I am and extend my downwind for them. They're usually revenue flights, and getting the people in that extra bit early helps, plus I like...

    So, now what?

Go out to the Linux community and say that you're a Windows user and need help. POA will seem like a kindergarten in an Amish community compared to the vitriol and lack of help you get here.

    First Student Pilot Barf Episode

For me, it's Unusual Attitudes. Did 5, and then did emergency descent to 1000, and then S-turns. Lost it 1/4 way through into my jacket. Last Friday, did 4, recovered well, continued on, aborted a landing (go around), and on downwind, "Hey CFI, can you hand me the bag?" Bag handed over...

    Aviation headset

If you're going on Craigslist to get headsets, and you have a laptop, get a computer to laptop adapter, so you can check them out. I use the FlightSound X (www.flightsounds.com), and it works on a PC and Mac, and is just a USB "sound card" that connects to an aviation headset. That being said...

    My Learning Path

Thank you! Yep, I fly 2-3x per week, when able. It usually turns out to be 1.5x/week, but I practice all the maneuvers I can, from emergency descents, short/soft field landings (just once, I'd like to do a regular landing!), even engine out (I love those!).
