    Banner Tower Crash Fort Lauderdale

There was. In the video it shows the banner. The witness said the banner snagged something and pulled the plane down.

    Banner Tower Crash Fort Lauderdale

https://wsvn.com/news/local/pilot-dead-after-plane-crashes-into-building-near-fort-lauderdale-beach/ There is allot of construction in the area and looks like the banner hooked caught a crane or something.

    Flight Club/ Partnership KTMB

Octopus Flying Club is out of North Perry (KHWO). Great club with pretty good planes. One is an Archer other is a Tobago.

Expensing a flight in your own plane.

I’m in a similar situation but have an agreement with my company to reimburse me at the IRS rate which works out to be about 50% of the cost to operate an Archer so not too bad.

Real life experience with "maneuvering" for the purpose of ADS-B compliance

You don’t actually have to maneuver. When I did the ADS-B check I showed up as registered while flying normally. There is a website you can check to confirm you are registered. https://adsbperformance.faa.gov/paprrequest.aspx

    Flying with a child

My wife is another issue. Flying just doesn’t interest her but she will deal with it. Especially to avoid the 5 hour car.

    Flying with a child

I have been entertaining the thought of taking my two year old daughter and wife on a trip to visit my parents (roughly two hours in flight). Does anyone have experience or tips for flying with a two year old? Also, any advice on what headset is best for a young child would be much appreciated.

    Getting nervous about IFR checkride

My DPE gave me my instrument checkride yesterday without issue (I passed). Apparently the only issue is I may have to hold on to my temporary airmen certificate for a while (it expires in 120 days so shouldn't be an issue) as they aren't processing any airmen certificates during the shutdown.

    Cessna 335 down FXE

Supposedly the plane had issues at World Jet (FBO) and they were working on it earlier in the day then took off. I am based at KFXE.

    Flying Club

From my flying club experience (I am in a pretty good one right now) make sure you see what the scheduling is like for the aircraft. I have seen clubs that have excessive rules on schedule/cancellation. At our club we do up to 240 hours scheduled at once, 3 maximum reservations at a time and...

    Anxiety On Cross Country Stops

I know exactly what you are talking about. I fly about 2 hours to visit my parents once a month and every time I go i check to make sure the master switch is off at least 10 times.

    IR written

There appears to be allot more focus placed on icing in the written test now. I just took mine (got a 90%) and there were allot of questions on icing. Sporty’s also provides notice of the FAAs focus on icing in their practice instrument tests.

    Midair over Everglades

I agree the "over-represented" doesn't mean a whole lot until you take into account they are a part 141 operator, and if you look at the massive number of Part 61 and Part 141 flight schools in South Florida combined they have nowhere near the problems Dean International had. Just their 8 FAA...

    Midair over Everglades

when you have incident after incident and it is their instructors and students causing these problems eventually you have to blame the school. They are overly represented in NTSB investigations in South Florida.

    Midair over Everglades

East of Miami executive isn’t much better. Flying the shoreline northbound everyone is staying under the Bravo at 1,000 feet I am shocked there aren’t more accidents there by South Beach.
