Looks like Garmin is sueing Uavionix

uAvionix does not hold any such certification, AFAIK. They are (pre-)selling units that they intend to achieve TSO authorization on. This is the same case as with SkyGuardTWX.

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Well, yeah. These guys are testing new hardware and new software and solving the problems so that FlightBox users can benefit :). There is a DIY setup that is exactly the same as your FlightBox (minus the case) and it's just as stable as your FlightBox.

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Ironically, if you've been following closely you'll know that the DIY kits never had the issues that his users encountered.

    ADS-B UAT Receiver for Computer

Just use stratux. I know for certain that the whole software package compiles and works on Mac (you said desktop). Haven't tried it on Windows.

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Where is this so clearly stated, because I've never seen it?

    Stratux AHRS display?

ForeFlight blocked stratux AHRS, I'd recommend switching to WingX in general.

Bad Elf ADS-B Portable 'In' - Kickstarter

Anyone else find the demos and the info they've given so far fairly contrived? Most of the kickstarter campaign is marketing/cheerleading "let's change the industry!" type of stuff. Behind everything they've actually said very little about what they've done and proven the results - like most...

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Is your issue only with WingX? I think that's the only app that isn't well integrated yet.

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Try v0.4r4, if you've been following the issues the GPS connected to the serial triggered some bug in Raspbian, which is fixed now.

    $30 ADS-B for Android?

Correction, Avare user - it's not meant to work with any other applications. There are lots of nice Android EFB apps, but this doesn't work with them. Also, the USB OTG interface has been known to be fairly inconsistent across different Android tablets. They recommend a specific tablet and the...

    ADS-B in saved my bacon

Do you have a source for this? First time I've seen that METARs/TAFs being transmitted via FIS-B were wrong.

    ADS-B in saved my bacon

The important question is: did you get a visual on him? You were flying VFR which means "see and avoid", not "see your iPad and avoid". In any case, you were probably experiencing what is called the "TIS-B Shadow".

The Cheapest AND the Most Stable EFB / ADS-B Solution

Stratux is more like $105 shipped for a comparable setup. Let us know how it actually works, haven't seen any real flight tests with this solution yet.

    stratus 1 or 2?

Stratux. $110. Then if you decide you don't like ForeFlight, it works with other apps as well.

The Cheapest AND the Most Stable EFB / ADS-B Solution

Eh, this is an argument not worth engaging in - wouldn't bother. Some people are early adopters/leaders, others are followers. I'm going to continue using my stratux and eventually it will become more and more accepted. Just like iPads were, ADS-B receivers were, etc.
