Well, yeah. These guys are testing new hardware and new software and solving the problems so that FlightBox users can benefit :). There is a DIY setup that is exactly the same as your FlightBox (minus the case) and it's just as stable as your FlightBox.

Ironically, if you've been following closely you'll know that the DIY kits never had the issues that his users encountered.

Just use stratux. I know for certain that the whole software package compiles and works on Mac (you said desktop). Haven't tried it on Windows.

ForeFlight blocked stratux AHRS, I'd recommend switching to WingX in general.

Anyone else find the demos and the info they've given so far fairly contrived? Most of the kickstarter campaign is marketing/cheerleading "let's change the industry!" type of stuff. Behind everything they've actually said very little about what they've done and proven the results - like most...

The important question is: did you get a visual on him? You were flying VFR which means "see and avoid", not "see your iPad and avoid". In any case, you were probably experiencing what is called the "TIS-B Shadow".

Stratux is more like $105 shipped for a comparable setup. Let us know how it actually works, haven't seen any real flight tests with this solution yet.

Eh, this is an argument not worth engaging in - wouldn't bother. Some people are early adopters/leaders, others are followers. I'm going to continue using my stratux and eventually it will become more and more accepted. Just like iPads were, ADS-B receivers were, etc.
