    Practice Approach in to Teterboro

Why KTEB? There are other airports under the Bravo shelf you can typically do this with (KCDW, KMMU, KFRG, N07). Obviously if you try during a busy time, then you'll get denied, but there are a lot of IFR students in the area - and they're accustomed to helping out.

How not to **** off your CFI

React to feedback with objectivity and appreciation. Personalities vary. Some CFIs are quite forceful with feedback or try to find flaws, while others give critical feedback in the air and everything else during debrief. I've had a CFI slam on the brakes right after touch-down - which is mildly...

Best GA Airport Option for Brooklyn

I don't think crossing the river is any worse than LIE traffic - at least with river, you can take train, ferry, or path if the roads are really blocked.

Best GA Airport Option for Brooklyn

I fly out of Caldwell (KCDW), but in your circumstance I'd recommend Linden. As long as you either go IFR or stay out of the Bravo airspace, you should be fine.

GA friendly airports in Newark area

Four airports you can realistically select from: Caldwell (KCDW) - ~30 mins to Newark Morristown (KMMU) - ~30 mins to Newark Linden (KLDJ) - closest to Newark Teterboro (KTEB) - though I think they'll be the most expensive

    Wanted: Partnership Partnership near NYC

I'd like to chat with anyone interested in a partnership or founding a club in KCDW or KLDJ (possibly KMMU)

Wanted: Partnership Cirrus SR22 - Northern NJ

I'm almost ready to go in on this, but I've done the math and have a few questions I'd love to discuss with others who are equally serious: Should we form a partnership or establish a club? In either situation, how many people allowed to join (per airplane)? What happens if a founding partner...

Future of aircraft pricing, 6months to a year from now.....

That's what I was taught too, but it seems that even economists are redefining the word 'recession' - they're mixing in unemployment and other variables. I'm with you, not sure why there's question.

USE OF FAR/AIM ON CPL ORAL EXAM

*bringing this thread back to life* I'm not really asking a question as much as making an observation: how much content a student has memorized vs. how much is acceptable to refer to the FAR/AIM during the oral portion of a checkride seems to be subjective. I think the collective wisdom here...

    IPAD mini kneeboard

I feel the same way - mini is the perfect size for me, and while I'm glad I learned to fly in 2001 when everything seemed more complicated than it is today - I can't imagine using paper charts or A/FDs ever again. Added bonus: you can reference your POH, FARs, and AIM (as well as other...
