Club, partnership or rental of 6 place plane near KSGF Springfield

Arkvet, I've never heard anything bad about the Saratoga. I should have describe my OP better. I'm looking at all options; rental, club or purchasing a share of a plane. I just don't fly enough hours each year to justify having a plane all to myself, but that could be on the table too at...

Club, partnership or rental of 6 place plane near KSGF Springfield

Wondering if anyone knows of a 6 place plane for rent or share in southwest missouri. Looking for Cherokee six, lance, or toga, or Beech a36. Due to 3 kids (7,4,2) and the wife, all the available 4 place rentals, clubs, or buy-ins just wont cut it to take the whole family on trips. If you...

PPL Training and Deer Strike - Read your Insurance Policy

Bonchie, Other than the down time, the owner got out smelling like a rose. Repairs paid and he got to convert the prop strike inspection to his new engine. Once lawyers were involved and my insurance was on the hook to defend, the option to settle became a more cost effective solution than...

Just thought I should tie a bow around this and let you all know how this turned out. I hired a lawyer and had to push the airplane owner to sue me to get AIGs attention. They appointed a lawyer, who was great, and we worked back and forth until we got to a place where we settled. Airplane...

All, thanks once more for the continued input. I will try and get my policy and renter's agreement scanned and redacted this weekend to let you all take a peak. The AIG policy is essentially identical to the one posted above. The owner refuses to engage his insurance, but the rental...

From AOPA.com... You don't take unnecessary risks in the air. Why take them on the ground? When you rent or borrow an aircraft you could be personally liable for tens of thousands of dollars in repair costs and legal defense fees should damage occur, because FBO policies rarely provide...

I specifically covered an engine failure situation with AOPA and they said it would not be covered by my policy nor would any other damaged caused by mechanical failure.

That is the exact language in my policy, I just had a different interpretation of "for which you are legally liable." Who gives AIG the ability to determine liability without even an investigation (never even contacted the CFI, the owner, etc.) and if all assumed liability is excluded, how would...

We had two factors on our side. A full moon, and the GPS / OBS button. Three if you count the Jack Henry hanger with the door wide open flooding the front of the runway with light. That did more harm to night vision in my opinion than helping with approach. Good news is I got the night...

I bought $1mm liability and $80k hull, so if they don't cover hull, I'm not sure what they sold me.

Yeah, would appear none of that is covered, at least through AOPA / AIG.

All, I'm overwhelmed by all the great input to my dilemma. Sure is great to have a group like this to bounce aviation issues off and appreciate all the time you have spent considering all the angles on this. After reviewing all the input this afternoon after work, I clearly wasn't detailed...

Ren, you are correct. That plane sat in a hanger at the Monett airport for the next month waiting on AIG to inspect. They never bothered. We went back to 3dw at 0 ft agl in a sedan.

When we finished up our night flight, we flew down to 42A and would you believe we couldn't get the runway lights on? Glad I had the landing light on that one and it was officially hunting season (Deer were hiding by then.)

Dunno, it was that night and I have a friend that did his night before me and had to do it without landing light, at least on one pass.

    Night training

My CFI had me do my night landings as touch and goes. I read the requirement details the next day and realized I'd have to do 8 more to satisfy. CFI's make mistakes too, not just us guys with training wheels on. :wink2:
