    [LOCK PLEASE] Guy Almost Gets Hit By 182 at St. Barts {DUPLICATE}

Do you know if the hardware at the cafe is Hayes compatible, or if they're still using an audio coupler?

Can't we all just be nice?

I worked a photo minilab eons ago (when they still existed as a viable service commodity) . . . and probably the most maddening question I've ever been repeatedly asked was "Which one is better?" Glossy or matte? Singles or doubles? I dunno; which one is better? This is probably one reason...

    Bad truck driver, BAD!

There's a lot of 11 ft 8 content on Youtube.

    Share your bird strike stories

Haven't had a bird strike yet, but came close once: I was mucking my way through a discovery flight a few years ago; I glanced to the left and found a seagull practicing formation flight with me at 9 o'clock low; distance of about 20 feet out and about five feet lower than my sightline. We...

    Someone knocked over the peanuts!

(Edit: BAH! Nevermind -- just reread your post and realized I was giving you what you already knew regarding the trust center. Carry on . . .)

Declaring an emergency driving to the airport.

Reminds me of that old joke about the former 747 captain who bought a Skyhawk, and declared an emergency while filing his first IFR flight plan with that aircraft.

    Pacific Northwest to Oshkosh

Sounds like you had quite the blast -- glad to hear the upper midwest was able to properly represent!

It looks so somber with so few left. . .

In this episode of "What would you do?"

You'd better be prepared to be seen hauling tuckus off the aircraft as soon as it's secured; that's not something that can easily be faked convincingly. ;)

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Just got my feet wet -- again. :) Did my first formal .7 in an Archer after waffling over it for years. Climbs, descents, coordinated turns . . . just basically getting the feel for the flight. Very little motion sickness even in 90' heat with the garden-variety convective clouds overhead...

    motion sickness issue

This calls up a very clear memory of mine the last time I was up: * It was in the early afternoon in September and I was well within altitudes where thermal activity was a given. * I was transitioning from flying over a lake to flying over plowed / semi-plowed cornfields. * I was in an aircraft...

    Pacific Northwest to Oshkosh

Yeah, we don't like it very much when it rains cats and dogs around here. The sound is distracting and it makes a big mess every time. :D All in all, not terribly surprised. Today was very warm (high 80's, low 90's), very humid but that didn't stop AirExpo 2015 from happening this weekend.

    Pacific Northwest to Oshkosh

Hey, Just wanted to chime in, having lived in the area for a time: As far as 18Y goes, I've been there on foot a couple of times and I've heard it's one of the smoothest grass strips in central Minnesota. I know of no formal FBO on-site (It's really a one-building facility with some tiedowns...

    Getting started -- 2 questions.

Guys, I thank you all for such a fantastic response -- I knew this place was very active before I signed up but I'm very wowed with what has been said so far. :) I just contacted the FBO I had been using before for a feeler on feasibility over the next month or so. I have the means to fly a...

    Getting started -- 2 questions.

Ahh, okay. It just sounded kinda funny at the time, but then again I had been effectively living under a rock for quite some time busying myself with stuff called 'work' and 'life.' Birth cert is no big deal; simplifies things significantly and means I don't have to wait a month before things...

    Getting started -- 2 questions.

Hi guys, I'm taking the slow road to earning my PPL sometime in the future but had a couple questions to start out with -- and this will probably impact how I go about things in the near future. Apologies if this was already covered elsewhere -- if so, could one please point me in the right...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Thankya! :) Not sure how much else I'll be able to contribute here but I'm only too happy to learn and be excited about stuff.

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Not sure if this belongs here or in a new thread, but introducing myself anyway: "New old" student -- I took three quarters of an hour in a Warrior (N4349K, RIP) back in 1999 and again in a Skyhawk in 2013. Money and real life have always had a way of keeping me grounded from the real thing but...
