    LPV as alternate. 600 or 800 feet?

    During my IPC today the topic of ceilings and visibility at alternate came up. Precision approach at alternate ceilings must be 600. Non-precision ceilings must be 800. Given that for a checkride an LPV is counted as a precision approach, how is it counted when selecting an alternate?

    HILPT teardrop angle

    Is there a rule of thumb for initial offset angle when doing HILPT teardrop entry? KBWD RNAV 17 coming from the southeast using MUSRE IAF. 8 mile holding pattern. Normal 30 degree offset for teardrop obviously doesn't work.
