    Houston Area Pilots...WTH?

I'm with ya Jay... I'll keep stopping in when I'm in the area! Just like Brenham, Conroe, etc... Never fear. Your hotel has been on my destination list for a while now! I'll definitely be in.

    Houston Area Pilots...WTH?

Hey now... I've been there at least twice now! One of the days there were quite a few people there when I arrived and even had to park a decent way down the ramp. Maybe I'm out of the norm... but I've been flying long enough that I like to have a destination instead of just boring random...

    Syllabus tips for CFI candidates?

Well that... and I tend to make a lot of notes on each lesson plan. I might just need to filter it down where I have references listed more than detail so I can quickly pull out the book full of diagrams, etc.

    Syllabus tips for CFI candidates?

Thanks, this helps a lot! I feel like I'm trying to cover too much in each lesson. I'm still working on that nice mix of regulations and aeronautical knowledge without being too overwhelming.

    Syllabus tips for CFI candidates?

I'm ok with writing lessons plans... I actually really prefer it as it is helping me study the details a lot closer. Although I probably have too much detail in the lesson plan itself. I'm just a little overwhelmed trying to figure out exactly what to cover and when in each plan. I guess I...

    Syllabus tips for CFI candidates?

Thanks for all the good tips. It sounds like I'm putting way too much emphasis on how I'm doing my lesson plans... When I started the CFI ground school a couple of years ago (before life got in the way for a while) it seemed like they were really harping on us to come up with some magical...

    Syllabus tips for CFI candidates?

Ok CFIs, what is the best way to organize my syllabus? I'm getting back into working on my CFI and I'm having a little trouble figuring out how I should organize my syllabus... Should I follow the chapters in the PHAK? PTS? Neither? How did you decide to organize your lesson plans and...

What did you guys wear to the checkride?

Agreed, a suit and a tie is definitely overboard, I certainly didn't go that crazy. I've just seen a lot of people go for a checkride in flip flops, torn jeans, and a t-shirt and I just thought that was really tacky! :wink2:

What did you guys wear to the checkride?

I mainly wore nice pants and a button up, even to my private checkride. I wanted to look professional and show the examiner some respect as well as that I was serious about the checkride. Yes, you are graded on your flying ability, but if you were in their shoes would you want to fly with...

ATC asking IFR aircraft to 'say destination'

I often wonder how much information approach controllers handoff between each other when I'm just flying local with FF. Often times the next controller has me repeat my destination or asks me where I'm going. I'm guessing they just don't key it in on my initial request? I can't say I've ever...
