Psych Evaluation and Background Check for First Class Medical?

an MMPI isn't as in depth as a psych eval. I don't think requiring that test is too excruciating

Psych Evaluation and Background Check for First Class Medical?

Except psychevals are prohibitively expensive, and background checks have proven to be an awful indicator of someone about to go psycho. I'd be willing to bet the guy didn't have any convictions. And in the US, mental issues dont show up on a background check unless you are declared...

    Finaly took daughter flying :)

My 6 year old is airplane crazy. I await with eager anticipation the day I can take her somewhere for a hamburger in an airplane. She will spend hours sitting next to me on flight sims being my copilot and reading checklists. The other day she informed me that I had "did it wrong" because...

    180hp 4 place EAB?

I've done some glass work on boats, it's super easy to learn. I'm going to start practicing it... because I have a hankerin to build something in the next few years after I have some flight hours under my belt.

As a former Drill Sergeant, that's a neat trick. I'd be interested to hear more.

Third Class medical reform moving forward albeit slowly

Well, I only made the decision to learn to fly a few months ago, and have already sent letters and made phone calls. Got some ideas about more I could do? I got canned responses as usual, so I hit the phones.

Third Class medical reform moving forward albeit slowly

I bet, sucks man. Wise friend of mine used to say "if government is the answer, it must have been a really stupid question." It's unfathomable to me that this has taken so long. When i started researching, I was amazed to see just how LONG this fight has gone on.

Third Class medical reform moving forward albeit slowly

I'm waiting. I have a condition that will clear, but that will cost a big chunk of money for the tests to clear. Not doing anything until I know if i'll be wasting my money

Talked to a CFI at a local club and i'm meeting him for lunch next week for more discussion. Their main trainer is in for annual right now, which is fine by me since i'm not ready yet. They have some other nice aircraft too, once i am licensed and have more training. I'm really stoked.

First "real" lesson. Got a groupon a while back and since i'm still "interviewing" instructors I went and checked this place out. Coordinating the feet, especially on the ground, is a bit tricky. I suspect this gets easier once you get over the weirdness of turning with feet. I was also kinda...

No idea, depends on where i complete the training at. If i go the club route, it'll either be a C172 or a Piper cherokee 180 depending on the club. At either of the FBO affiliated schools i checked out, it'd be the cessna also. I'm gonna attend both Texins and RFC meetings and check em out.

Hey everyone. Finally fulfilling a lifelong dream to fly. I took a discovery flight when I was a kid, but my folks couldnt afford to get me further in my dream. Got out of high school, joined the Army, then life happened. So, other than a boatload of time in computer simulators while my...
