    3 year old router question

It does cost $ to step up to a solution like Unifi, but for me one of the great features was having one SSID that broadcasts in both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Previously I had a dual band motorola access point, but this required two SSIDs: (think MyHouse & MyHouse2.4GHz) Not that convenient when you want...

    3 year old router question

My understanding is that most if not all of the Unifi APs are capable of accepting a wireless uplink rather than a wired connection. Of course you would need at least one wired in and the throughput would be considerably reduced.

    3 year old router question

I have been struggling with poor WiFi for about a year. We have a 150 mbps plan and would have problems if more than one device is streaming. This is with a Motorola cable modem / router / WiFi AP combo unit (purchased and added to my service because I don’t like renting them). I started doing...

Another "Does This Require a Commercial Pilot?" Thread

Is there any guidance on what crosses the line in terms of property? I understand an iPhone is common property but what about these scenarios? If I'm a computer programmer can I bring a computer with me? Software installation CDs? How about if I'm a mechanic, can I bring my tools? If I'm a...

    The big game flyover

http://afthunderbirds.com/site/2014/12/09/usaf-thunderbirds-release-2015-show-schedule/ This link says the Thunderbirds, but the jets I saw today were not dressed up.

    The big game flyover

I saw 4 birds in formation and practicing maneuvers near IWA today. Not sure if it's the big game crew but it sure was fun watching them. Which group will be doing the flyover?

Commute by Plane (the long version)

Indeed, TAT quotes 196 KTAS @ 15.1 gph FL220. Since for me currently this is an academic discussion I thought 180 KTAS @ 14.5 FL125 looked better for a couple reasons. 1) 180 KTAS made the discussed trip in a leg I feel I could do nonstop with no PAX. 2) I have no experience sucking O2 in a non...

    TSA Pre-Check

I read this thread this morning and I did the pre-enrollment on my home computer. Found a place that had lots of openings the rest of the week so I decided to try a walk-in today. Waited for 15 minutes, 5 minute interview (paid on my AMEX) and on my way. Painless! Sent from my iPhone using...

Commute by Plane (the long version)

Though I didn't take the time to quote it, the idea to look at the TN A36 came from a couple posts in this thread. Admittedly I am writing from a place of relative ignorance and I appreciate everyone's guidance and advice. My 3 kids weigh a combined 125 lbs soaking wet. My wife and I together...

Commute by Plane (the long version)

I've been looking into the TN A36 and if i'm reading this right it's pretty impressive. 180 kt @ 14.6 gph FL125 does the trip from PHX to MKC in just over 5 hours on ~80 gals of fuel. Bird has 6 seats with 1600 useful load and would make my most common family trip from PHX to FAT seem like...

Commute by Plane (the long version)

A lease from a private owner or a aircraft dealer? Interesting thought, just not familiar with how that would work in GA. SWAGing 10 hours of flight time per 40-50 hour work week I might be able to swing $200 / HR of total flying cost and try to recapture as much as I can through the expense...

Commute by Plane (the long version)

Since a couple people mentioned it I'll just say I have no airline aspirations, I'm 36 and enjoy my field of work. Most of the thought process surrounds getting to where I can fly my whole family to see the in laws or on other weekend getaways. Only flying on weekends to progress through IR HP...
