Took a Waymo (driverless car) this week

The novelty wears off after about 1.5 minutes of riding in one. I won't pay extra for a driverless ride but, I don't mind them. Although, i have had some interesting uber/lyft rides that I could have done without.

    Students are "Learners" now...........

Thanks for bringing me up to speed. So who was the moron that decided it no longer meant "not sleeping"? That person needs to be banished. Probably the same person that decided we should park in driveways and drive on parkways.

    So many jokes..

Yep, I’ve landed there a few times. But the location only makes the story more odd. To jump in and steel a tail wheel, he had to have some pilot experience. It’s like he did it on purpose.

Story below, saw somewhere else that it was citabria. A Miami man was arrested Thursday after allegedly stealing a plane in Palo Alto and flying it to a sandy beach in Half Moon Bay. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said Luiz Gustavo Aires, 50, stole a plane from a Palo Alto airport and...

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

I don't understand why anyone would want to go on roadtrip over 500 to 600 miles in an EV. That just isn't within an EVs mission without huge sacrifices. I'm personally fine with one stop for food but, more than that, ICE.

Thinking about an EV (nvm, bought one)

with regard to comparison of plug in chargers to clothes dryers, the load is very different. I first installed a standard big box store outlet (i.e. great for clothes dryer). After thinking about the load difference, I opted for a more industrial/commercial outlet. When installing, it was...

The holidays are officially done, yipee!

I still try not to take vacation around major holidays because everyone else does and the office is a much better place without coworkers. I want to take vacation when everyone is working.

Let me guess, you also blame video games and heavy metal music? Rather than focus on the difficult topic of mental health… squirrel, squirrel, squirrel.

That’s some next level California BS right there. Quick, how do I blame someone else so I don’t have to take responsibility for my own actions.

EPA Finds Small Airplanes Cause Dangerous Lead Pollution

Doh, I didn't read completely. It still doesn't change my opinion that the real driver for RHV closing is politics and land use. with that being said, I do think lead should be removed from aviation fuel.

EPA Finds Small Airplanes Cause Dangerous Lead Pollution

They did convert RHV to 100UL. But RHV isn't about lead, or noise, or dangerous old airplanes or whatever other reason has been given over the years (just like every other small airport that has closed in any state). Its about politics and land, nothing else (just like every other small airport...

    Anger directed at drug abusers

2 weeks for surgery for that kind of injury? Are they waiting for swelling to subside or something? I just had a leg injury in July that required me to be taken off the mountain strapped to the back of a UTV after being carried to the UTV. Then taken to local ER by ambulance to be sent to...

    Is “reaching your breaking point”

first thing that came to my mind. Although, have you seen some of the posts on POA about what is needed in a flight bag?

I went to FlugTag and you should consider it.

I can agree with this. Watched one of these years ago on SF Bay. Solid entertainment.
