Just did my BFR today out of SDL. Was talking about KIWA ramp fee's. One guy said "after 20 mins" they charge a ramp fee... Who knows what to belive as they don't post anything.

I was jump seating ( retired DX) out of Louisville Ky. To PHX. on climb out of Louisville we got "Direct St. Johns" but then this was about 2am.

Why should we HAVE to call and ask? Why can't they make this known in there advertisements? They make there gas prices known. This is my biggest beef! NOT POSTING INFO ANYWHERE on there site etc

There is nothing on there website etc. The only way to find out is reading comments on Airnav. If your going to charge a ramp fee POST it. Otherwise I think it is some clerk pocketing the money

Landing fee's and Ramp fee's are different. Only landing fee's I have had to deal with are AVX and SMO

What is it with pop up ramp fee's? example. KIWA is now charging a ramp fee. Nothing on there website. No flyers etc. The only way you find out is when you land. I don't think they should be able to charge these pesky fee's unless there is a heads up in advance.

Yep coming out of SDL. you need to contact PHX TRACON quickly before entering class B. Would be nice if SDL TWR would set you up on Clearance del freq.

New to Constant speed prop. Just got signed off on the 182 after years of flying 172's. I am STILL confused RPM to me means throttle and Manifold pressure is the props. But it seems this is backwards on the c182. ( Adj prop look at RPM window) Adj Power look at Manifold window.

KSDL doesnt have discreet squawks. Most VFR traffic. is arriving/departing 1200. But it is kind of interesting though.

When requesting FF for example out of PHX. and flying to TUS. tell them you want FF "with a center handoff" you will get a center squawk. makes things easier for the controller. otherwise they might dump you and you have to call up center as a cold call. or you will waste the controllers time by...

Hello I was told along time ago when requesting FF from a TRACON and you plan to fly through ARRTC airspace. To request FF with a "center hand off" this way you get a Center squak code instead of a TRACON code. and then avoiding a reassigned code while enroute. any advise? correct? Jeff

Anyone ever fly KIWA to KCHD? If so did you coordinate with IWA tower? The reason why I ask is that the Class "D" from CHD is only about a mile or two from the airport to the north east.
