Another classic POA discussion. All you really need to know is when the engine quits would you rather be eaten by a bear or a fish. Personally I prefer being fish food. Not sure why...but that's my opinion. Yeah you might get lucky over land or sea....and actually survive. But don't count on it.

I never use any device with 100% brightness. Turn off auto bright and adjust brightness down a bit.(maybe 80-90% in bright daylight) Helps with battery life too and have never had an overheat issue. You will be amazed at what 10-20% less brightness does for power consumption. Also agree...

No knot gain...but it does fly straighter and uses less trim.;)

Corporate aren't 365/24/7 pilots.....they do have specified days off. Unless they are complete idiots to work for with unreasonable conditions....I'm pretty certain he will be able to continue his CFI job as a side to not only earn more but to increase hours.
