Yeah, I use the gear as a slow-down mechanism (speed breaks) coming into the pattern, so I'd know immediately if they weren't down. When I go first flaps, check 3 green. Second flaps, 3 green. Turn final, 3 green. Short final, full prop, 3 green. It's my routine to check a dozen times...
